I say Daredevil. I really liked his 'What If...?' where he was set in feudal Japan. Plus the whole ninja/mafia/sometimes mystical nature seems to fit well
How worried were you about backlash to a homosexual character being portrayed as what some would consider a negative and innaccurate stereotype?
Side note: I personally applaude the move. I think it is bold and less offensive than simply treating all minority characters as strong and non-stereotypical so long as it's non-offensive. I'm talking to you El Estrano and Hemogoblin.
I know this is rehashing an old post about an older storyline, but I swear I was so hoping that Sentry was going to turn out to be connected to Xorn. I thought the star-for-a-brain was in lines with cyclops, nightcrawler and wolverine (originally) in senses of unique powers and a potential destroyer of worlds but decides to save it instead was amazing. Also he had a unique look and outlook on the world. C'mon, the dude had such a sweet, ambiguous power set. So rare these days. Yay Physics!
I'd like to see a revamped team with a mix of old and new faces (especially after Fear Itself with the Serpent's attack and all) using some mythical serpents as well (Eden, Midgar serpent, nagas, 'Irish serpent') or some now unused names (viper being madame hydra, boomslang, cottonmouth [detained by american eagle])
What id really like is to see the Villains Union idea being a focus. Votes and benefits in action. Maybe even legal attempts in the court using fronts as a legitimate business.
There was an Exiles issue that dealt with this where ALL heroes were a part of heroes for hire and if you needed help you had to pay. Funniest line was when Japan was getting attacked by Moses Magnum (oh late 90s Avengers restart) and they wanted "the avengers package" (hehe)
Ummmm... perhaps I am missing something that some of you oh-so-great comic minds have picked up, but there is no comparable situation to that of the x-men over the past decade. While I may disagree with some of the creative efforts to change the paradigm of the X-Universe, it is hard to argue with some of the changes in characters to respond to these. Wolverine has a much more strict moral code as a result of the meories and child he gained post m-day, kitty pryde has grown up in astonishing x-men, emma frost has become a well-liked hero as a result of the genocide of genosha and these are only 3 examples. Cyclops has changed to respond to issues only mutants have dealt with. Their government cast them out, their allies ignore them and their own people have had to respond. Cyclops has done what any leader of any nation has had to do; measure the needs of the many against the needs of the few. Think about it: how do you protect what is left of your race against hostile forces that want to see you eradicated?
