I actually didn't catch the billboard reference. I did however catch Erik Selvig telling Jane Foster and Darcy Lewis about how dangerous SHIELD is after they took their equipment. He mentioned the foremost scientist of gamma radiation and how after SHIELD got involved, he was never heard from again, referencing Bruce Banner.

I loved this movie. I think they did a great job of mixing the real world of Earth with the fantastical and mythical world of Asgard. I had high hopes for this movie and it didn't disappoint. I particularly enjoyed Thor's Asgardian mentality when he crash landed on Earth. Classic!

I do hope they continue a Thor franchise after The Avengers.

Criminal? That's Brubaker's baby.  "

My bad... I meant to write Powers, not Criminal. On top of Powers, Bendis is writing Scarlet as well.

So add that to his many monthly titles. This is why I feel most of his stuff is subpar. He's writing so many monthlies and his material suffers for it. He isn't putting enough focus on the books because he's putting them together quickly to meet his deadlines. Writing mini-series after mini-series only adds to his generally lackluster final results. I think Marvel needs to tell him to slow down. Either drop some of the books he's writing or give them to someone else.

Why did it have to be Bruce?

I have a feeling it has something to do with Final Crisis. There might be a reason behind why it was he who was captured by Darkseid and then "killed". And seeing as Rip Hunter, a TIME TRAVELER, is concerned, it could very well have someting to do with Bruce being sent back in time for The Return of Bruce Wayne. There might be more to it than we've already been told.

Just a thought!

Love this post Icemizer!!!

I won't take Bendis' success away from him. And I have to admit that he has some real cool ideas. But I find him more of a general plotline creator than a specific dialogue writer. When it comes to panel-to-panel dialogue, I think he's pretty awful. I'll read a conversation between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers and it'll be exactly like a conversation between Peter Parker and Mary-Jane from Ultimate Spider-Man. He writes them all pretty much the same.

Character 01: Yes!
Character 02: No!
Character 01: Yes!
Character 02: No!
Character 01: Uh-Huh!
Character 02: Nuh-Uh!
Character 01: You sure?
Character 02: Yes, I am sure!
Character 01: Really?
Character 02: Yes, really!
Character 01: Okay!
Character 02: Okay?
Character 01: Okay!

I guess this is why he bangs out so many monthly titles each time. He has to cut something from what a normal and focused writer would spend time and energy on in a book. He goes for quantity, not quality.

As for Moon Knight, he's among the many lower-level superheroes who makes the Marvel Universe that much more enjoyable. He and a lot of other unsung heroes are the reason why Marvel has so much depth in their pool of characters.

This show is proof that DC is just too good in animation. I'll say that Marvel is onto something great with Avengers: EMH and they had two special shows with W&XM and Spectacular Spider-Man (although those are unfortunately done). But DC continues to prove that they are masters of animation, be it direct-to-DVD films or TV shows.

What I love most about this show is the pacing. They don't rush through the scenes, yet they succeed in telling the story from A to Z. That's a credit to the crew working on this show. They allow things to simply happen. It's dramatic and humourous at the same time. Each member has their characteristics and it makes for excellent team dynamic. They each possess their own personality and they all contrast each other.

I think that with this show, Avengers: EMH, Batman: Brave and the Bold, and Super Hero Squad Show, we're being treated with very fun animated programming from the Big Two.

Okko is a great series. For those that might not know, The Cycle of Air is the third part of a trilogy, which includes The Cycle of Water and The Cycle of Earth. This was originally a European comic from a very popular French publisher: Delcourt. And on top of that, it's written by a very famous writer/artist simply named Hub. I'm from Montreal, and being in a francophone province, French comics are VERY popular here. And I'm happy to have access to innumerable books from there because they have so much awesome stuff.

I'm also happy knowing that publishers like Archaia, and even a powerhouse like Marvel have begun translating French comics, offering non-French speaking readers the chance to enjoy these great stories. I would suggest Okko to anyone.

Well, 2010 is almost over and what some of us do at the end of a year is look back on it. I did my best to follow most titles and as much indy movement as I can, but the comic book industry is overwhelming. I want to ask everyone to tell me what books really stood out for them in 2010. It could be a single issue or a graphic novel. It could be from the Big-Two or from one of the really cool independent publishers.

You can simply list them or if you'd like, give a reason why you enjoyed that book. My reason for this is to find out if I missed anything that would be worth going back to check out myself.

Thanks for your time! :)

I'm with you. I've lost faith in FOX and Columbia/Sony when it comes to Marvel properties. Part of me hopes First Class, Wolverine, and Spider-Man aren't well received for one reason: those studios might feel like these franchises have dried up and there isn't any serious money to be made with them anymore, hence Marvel Studios/Disney can reclaim the rights to them and give us better quality films a la Iron Man.

I think the Lizard would best serve if they build towards it. Exploring Dr. Curt Connors' struggles and personal inner demons is a great side story to help build towards a clash between Spidey and Lizard. And I'm not talking about one or two scene cameo appearances like the Raimi trilogy. I'm talking about focusing on Connors as a supporting character.

I'm of the opinion that Morbius would much better fit in a Blade movie. Even if Morbius is a Spidey villain, I think that the whole vampire theme should remain with Blade (since they're considering making more Blade films now).

I might have missed something, but did they confirm that Dr. Connors will be the Lizard or will he remain in his human form? If he remains human, then it isn't a multiple-villain film like SM3.

Proto-Goblin might not be among the priority choices of many. But if the story is properly done, then I don't mind if it's a villain who's appeared in only one flashback issue throughout Spidey's near 50 year run.
