Biography
It begins in the past of the Great Devourer's first memory. Before the big bang existed a remote planet in it's own productive galaxy, the Partheris Realm. The race of lizardlings was that of one of the species in the universe's history, the height of the population reaching six million before the big bang struck. Ruling the civilization by his own rule was Mortimer, the god hand. For a rule of nearly 200 years the Partheris Realm reached a renaissance of technological wonders and cultural nourishment. I was the oldest son of Mortimer, Father had five other sons after I was born, each from one of his wives. Lucius, Martrul, Benagar, Jevvarim, and unfortunately the youngest of them being named as Goliath, The Devourer. No matter how many sons Mortimer had he made room for us, each of us with a role in the council, all except for the bastard child. I was scripted to become a scholar, something I marveled at in our time in the realm. However one night when I had been at work in my tower for an inappropriate amount of time I noticed ruptures in our atmosphere, not visible to the naked eye by any means, one would need professional tools to understand what these meant. It meant the apocalypse was on it's way to our realm, unbeknownst to me was that Goliath had been in my study that night, watching me. He understood greater than I did what steps needed to be taken to survive what was destined to come, all while I broke into a panic. Goliath took up rituals in the old gods sacrificing fingers, blood, an eyeball, and a few of those unlucky enough to speak to the child. When the day of the big bang hit us, our planet was literally pulling apart by the roots before the explosion hit us, but the cities pulled apart faster. Withing hours of the apocalypse there were already self proclaimed "Kings" and "Generals" leading war against each other. By this time father had shot himself and left us trying to hold back the false prophets that lead those who once cheered our names, spoke about us in their prayers, would take a bullet for us in fact, against us, with the literal blood of other lizardlings literally painted across them in tribal taboo prayers. We thought we could ride out the storm behind the castle walls in Imperial, but Goliath had this scenario run through his mind millions of times since the night of the discovery weeks before that. With the next thing I knew, I felt a round from Goliath's six shooter slam into my head, it didn't kill me. I instead saw my brothers raise their arms only to be shot down by the bastard child. I tried to keep quiet but to no avail, he put the last bullet in my skull, finishing me off. But you wonder how I lived. Goliath had made himself into a star to survive the initial blast by sacrificing our royal souls. When he took the last one, he was at an incredible height, looking more reptilian than any of us. But when a giant grows out of the roof of a castle and suddenly transforms into a star, they realized what exactly was happening, and with that thought they were disintegrated into nothing. Fortunately Goliath realized the error in his calculation, the blast was far more worse than what he had expected. So that's when he split me off, he transformed me into a star and put me in front of him as a meatshield 75% of the way through the blast. It had already done enough damage to fry Goliath's mind, making him forget, I didn't, I never did. But a couple trillion years into the future we both awoke with our physical bodies returned, but we had received powers from the star effect, I was at my normal height and he was still a tower. So as quick as I could, I climbed behind one of his fins and camped there for a couple hundred years until his first trip to Earth, the day when the humans took him down with one shot from a sling, that shot did take him down, but it threw me out of my hiding place. Immediately he spotted me, and knew me. The face he had was that of pure rage, anger and bloodshed, he simply lifted a finger and I returned to a star form, but this is the part, the part that truly makes him sick in the mind. He let me watch from my state as a star, unmoving. He plucked me up and put me back under the fin. There I sat for eons, watching with only a crack to see the outside world. But as to how I knew all of this, through all that time alone with my thought, I adapted to a form of telepathy and connected these "cords" to Goliath, and eventually I found his mind. I could see even when he could not, I understood at that very moment, but at no means was I free. But that changed when the Bastion was built, the Council formed. Until that point Goliath left me in the Devourer's Depths until my cell was ready. That was the first time he spoke to me since the boom, I heard him speak before with his mind and with his voice when someone deserved it. He used his mouth to taunt me, and with his final words he had closed the door. But that was all until he dropped dead from age, if I'm older why didn't I die of age yet? My predictions say that the star preserved my age, which is why Goliath's old sidekick "Billy" showed up. He had Goliath's star on his back, one of his scales and a piece of his bone. It was a smart little creature, the pieces of physical material greatly sped up the physical formation that would have taken millenniums. But the blowfish provided, and I stood on my own two feet at last. And used everything I had to escape the cosmic prison.
And now he's left it to me, solely the last of the race to revive us.
Our empire.
Statistics
Powers
Molecular Kinetics: Ulysses has the abilities of molecular manipulation of many different forms, each of them allowing to control the status of molecules themselves, no matter what they might belong to.
Molecular Overdrive: Ulysses grinds molecules against each other at hypersonic speeds until they catch into a flame despite whatever material is being sped up. The only downside to this is the chance of molecules simply shattering into a void after pressing enough strain on themselves. This is common with materials like cardboard, styrofoam, and cotton along with other delicate materials a child could tear apart with their bare hands.
Genetic Copying: The Gecko Prince can manipulate his features to be equivalent to those who he sees the entire body of. While he does not need to copy them completely and can instead copy the body feature he notices, it is not usually wise to only copy a face and keep your green body. With a quick glance at a body Ulysses can take their skin but not their in depth features as height, weight, clothes, and voice goes, that requires about an entire minute of watching or rather studying until able to become them in full. This is not hindered by seeing a living breathing model of them, a picture or a video of them would have the same effect as the actual them would.
Combustion: Taking Molecular Overdrive up a step and bashing and scraping the molecules into each other until the point of explosion, this however is limited to metals rather than the fictional idea of making a notepad explode into shrapnel and napalm. From aluminum to vibranium, anything is an explosive.
Molecular Deceleration: Rather than speeding up molecules, it's slowing them down actually letting an object move in slow motion allowing for the most matrix of moves. While preferring to simply use immobilization to stop the bullet headed towards him, the molecular deceleration works as a bluff to allow Ulysses to appear as a being with incredible reflexes, remarkable fighting skill, and instant reaction time. All the while this can affect more around him and more ground than immobilization can hope to overcome.
Molecular Mortar: Lifting the molecules away from each other, choosing a designated spot, and let your mind do the work in letting them fire off into space before making a nosedive back towards that area and reforming moments before impact. It doesn't need to be examined by a PHD to realize that each of those molecules gaining G-Force then reforming back into a cinderblock is going to be an instant shitty day for whoever it targeted.
Molecular Static: The Jurassic Juggernaut uses this ability when rubble is attempted to be dropped on him, or when rubble is needed to be thrown. Like a intangibility the user can step through almost anything they choose, but rather than just walking through it, it is repelled away as they pass through.
Molecular Immobilization: Allows for a complete stop on the desired target, however struggle is the only downside to the ability. It is easily broken with a few body vibrations and pulls, but that's enough time for a precise strike against whomever is trapped in the grip. This does leave a sentient being to being manipulated in any gravity setting by a thought of his mind. Leaving him capable of bashing a hole through a steel wall with the man who cut in line.
Molecular Manipulation: Allows Public Enemy to reform, bend, move, or mold an inanimate object to his will. To the only boundaries being magical items. Besides that border the entirety of the environment around them is ripe for being manipulated in every sense that his abilities will possibly allow him to pull off. Going as far as to shatter a forest of redwoods to splinters with a raise of a finger.
Sub-Zero: One of his most lethal powers against a human. Freezing every water molecule in their body for a brief time, one minute to be exact. However if they were to have a heat source, this ability is easily avoided. If not the aftershock of being entirely frozen is the equivalent to having your muscles fall asleep on an in sync movement. If one were to survive even this the point of having your blood frozen solid for an entire minute is perhaps the greatest challenge of them all. If he doesn't hit you while you are frozen extreme bodily trauma is soon to follow after.
Molecular Light Strikes: More of a combat effect rather than actually a combat ability. The Walking Meteor applies this to his arms when the chance for direct swings present themselves allowing his fists to move at speeds that a naked eye can't comprehend. This kinesis however is not limited to his arms. Being able to be sent to his legs for a blinding number of kicks to the jaw, his heart if he wanted to commit suicide by having his heart explode into a gooey paste, or his skull for intense heat vision. None of those sound soothing and all of them sound terrifying.
Molecular Renewing: Allows for the recreation of destroyed molecules if for some reason they would be bashed, stabbed, jabbed, slashed, scorched, iced, etc. Making for a very potent healing technique for the most devestating attacks that could take years to heal for a normal lizardling. Coma inducing injuries simply avoided with a brush of a hand over his skull.
Molecular Teleportation: Simple as said. Breaks apart the user by the molecules until they are gone, then they are at the desired destination. Allowing Ulysses to travel anywhere in a lightyear around him. With instantaneous access to only places that he knows the coordinates of. Only areas with a layer of magical protection can deny access to the area.
Heat Vision: With air molecules all pulling together packing tight, Ulysses releases a stream of radiation from around the tearducts of his eyes heating the grinding and scraping air molecules into a beam of supremely hot napalm fire. The beam is capable of cutting through solid concrete and building with only severe scorch marks left on the gash across whatever poor thing was chosen as the test dummy or the target.
Astronkinesis: The Universal Undertaker has the ability to control the remnants of dead stars. Controlling the stardust dissolved from them. This leads to control over cosmic fire trails left behind by meteors. The ability remains less combat and more of a transportation technique.
Storm Manipulation: The ability to manipulate any kind of storm that occurs naturally. Hurricanes, Lightning Storms, Tornadoes, Sandstorms, etc. This does not mean that he has the ability to suddenly summon a storm over the skies, whatever happens at that very time is what he's going to use.
Flight: The power of flight has one average method and one maximized method. Naturally Ulysses flies at a speed of Mach 10. However when he is the reaches of the skym by forming a shell of cosmic fire around himself he can move at 20x the speed of sounds allowing himself to burn through any particles that may or may not slow him down.
Natural Abilities
Dermal Armor: A lizardling quality enhanced with the transformation, very convenient when being shot at. The armor has an exoskeleton running through it for joint protection while the shell itself is made of a meteorite bone. The meteorite is seperated with traces of ivory and vibranium somewhere in the veins of the shell.
Meteorite Fisticuffs: When Billy reformed the First Prince with a piece of meteorite bone it transformed all his bones to solid meteorite, allowing him to always punch through walls without destroying his knuckles. These knuckles have been capable to punch through nearly anything without holding back, in the past being able to take down a skyscraper.
Claw Retraction: A reptile thing, retractable claws for soft flesh ripe for tearing. Or a sharp object. The claws simply need proper grooming to stay sharp or can be considered as sharp as the blade on a cheap swiss army knife. When sharpened however the claws have been seen to be as sharp as the blade of a shogun's prized katana.
Underwater Breathing: As par to the Vacuum Invulnerability the Lizardlings once came from underwater towns until they moved onto shorelands. A similar trait to modern reptilians today. However today Lizardlings actually have a tactical use for this rather than just a survival technique. Many times did the Lizardlings use this trait to return to the waters they came from to visit their heritage.
Radiation Absorption: As do cockroaches, Lizardling absorb radiation when hit with it. They pack it into a seperate pocket on their stomach and can release it from their pores at any given moment as a self defence technique. Releasing a cancerous heat from their body to fend off anything attempting to cause the Lizardling harm in any fashion. However when passing through the star form this absorption mutated into radiation vision allowing for a precise and long range radiation explusion.
Vacuum Invulnerability: Allows Ulysses to move throughout space without his skull exploding. This passes farther than just space survival, allowing survival into black holes while staying intact throughout it.
Quad Arms: Beneath a lizardling's shoulder is two patches of scales that can retract, revealing four more arms on their side. To most of his kind this was just an average feature, mostly ignored until streetfights. To the average citizen this was nothing special, but Ulysses sees it as a brand new tool for his fists. Allowing him to send a punch with as many angles as he desires.
Nigh Unlimited Stamina: The race in which Ulysses hails from has no such trait. It is the loss of them that caused this. Having people that once cheered his name then demanding for his life, his brother's treachery, and being locked away for countless millenniums has lead to a deep unsustainable rage in the pit of his stomach. If placed in lesser beings it would drive them to a madness or simply kill them, the Scholar has managed to simply transmit this bloodlust into a source of never ending energy for himself.
Skills
Forging Handwriting: The Silver Hand was known for this reason. Ulysses is arguably one of the best forgers capable of getting without going into the deepest layers of the underworld. Whether it be checks, contracts, or credit cards. After writing letters and scripts for hours on end his wrists became remarkably stern and yet swift. Perfect for keeping signatures matching.
Chemistry: Ulysses has enough trust in himself to mix highly dangerous minerals and chemicals with each other without a second thought of doubt. He has previously brewed potions of curing plenty of diseases for lizardlings and healing wounds of the most brash weapons. In the lower part of his study was equipment that only royalty could acquire, while any brand cheaper would have burned through the glass of the vials and through a couple levels of stone. Despite this his skill in mixing was unmatched by the finest chemists in Partheris.
Scholar Intellect: The Solar Scholar was once of the most brilliant people during the Partheris Realm's years. After years in his tower working with ages of knowledge and equations, each detail remembered with utmost prowess. Each script sent to heart. Scholars were chosen for this simple reason, the capability to remember details actually understand what they mean rather than just roughly get the concept. However Ulysses remained a little more gifted than most before himself.
Omnilingualism: After countless time linked into Goliath's mind Banish eventually became fluent in every possible language. The Great Devourer took his travels to the farthest reaches of the universe as the brightest of species know it. Making stops in foreign locations, each with a diverse language of their own begging to be learned and spoken. Once Goliath had "concluded" his goal in that galaxy which nevertheless faced it's destruction his memories stayed with him allowing Ulysses his own personal library of The Devourer's mind, leaving him ages to study each language for as long as needed until maintaining full tongue over the words.
Enhanced Hearing: Staying in complete silence inside a tower eventually allowed Ulysses to put his hearing at superhuman levels to the point where a rabbit chewing can be heard from a hundred yards away. The quietest of sounds in his study were a relief to hours of pages and ink, often taking time out of his day to simply listen to the sounds around him. During his midway through being a scholar his ears faced a sudden pop which after an hour of deafness granted him championship hearing.
Equipment
The King's Armament: A six-shooter magnum designed and created by the greatest minds of the Partheris Realm including himself. Once the sleek black ivory weapon with golden and emerald decor was finished it was handed to Emperor Mortimer and served as his weapon until the ends of their time. The weapon has an ironsight steady on it's barrel, and a retractable scope on the side of the chamber for shooting at a distance. Each shot coats the round in a flammable substance, rather it be lighter fluid or oil. When fired, the end of the barrel is grated to ensure a flame if the trigger doesn't set it off first. The Cosmic Prince carries the King's Armament behind his belt for the element of surprise of those who would unexpect a telepath to carry a firearm.
Ritual Paint: A paint of the High Priests of Partheris Realm that protected Priests from sorcery. Despite this superstition the paint does provide a defense against magic. While the paint is made from plants capable of being found on Earth, it is not an immunity against magic. Considered more of a weakening of magic, nulling the advanced effects of the spell.
A Jester's Mask: The mask of a clown? That's weird. Probably nothing though.
Weakness
Ulysses is naturally poisoned by a reptile's blood. The potency of this venom is maximized by iguana blood. Due to the evolution of the lizardlings to modern reptiles and the steps back they took it has a threat to it. Once reptilian blood touches the skin beyond his dermal shell his immunity to radiation lowers leaving a source of radiation inside him. While poisoning him from the inside it works as an acid on his skin causing a burning pain to the searing wound. However if it were to be the blood of say, a gecko at most making his vision buzzy.
