RPGs: What I need to get better at!

Things I need to accomplish, in my RPG writing. Also filled in potential solutions.

  • Being descriptive enough and still not overdoing it. ------> Rereading the post might help?
  • Not repeating the same word over and over in the same post (earlier, I was overusing the word "symbol" x_X). ------> ...hmmm...maybe having WIktionary open in another window and checking for synonyms?
  • Giving my characters some personality! (Especially with their thoughts and dialogue.) ------> idk how...lol
  • Take less time with the posts! (Currently it takes about 2 days more than I plan. x_X) ------> Use some of the limitless supply of otherwise redundant time.
  • Not leaving so many darn plotholes! (Even though I seem to be the only one who notices them, but I'm just too lazy to fix it...) ------> Rereading the post might help?
  • Rereading my posts before posting them... (This could solve the last problem by default, if I'm lucky.) ------Easy, I just reread the post xP
  • Remember why I'm doing things, not just what I'm doing... ------> Rereading the post?
  • Basic spelling and grammar. (English is my second language, not my first...x_X) ------> Once again, rereading.
  • Not making my post be so slow (slow in reading them, that would be). ------> Look up Obi's, Gambler's and Nova's posts, they don't seem to have this problem.
  • Errr...I'm sure there's more...<.<

Yeah, this is pretty much a self-help blog so I can find this list easily...but if you've found anything more with my RPG writing (my RPGs are listed on my profile) that needs fixing, tell me, I can take it (...so I can work and get better at it!).

The Story of Izaac Masterson

The First Step to Power Has Been Taken
A mysterious savior.
A mysterious savior.

Sometime when Izaac Masterson was four years old, he walked out on the road and was close to be hit by a car...when a person shining in blue light saved him by blowing him away with a strange patterned force field. Izaac wanted to express his gratefullness to the person, but he disappeared just afterwards. Izaac never spoke of the incident to anyone, but it had a very visible effect on him. The exotic patterns on the forcefield inspired Izaac to start drawing...especially symbols and cryptic patterns. Secretly and subconsciously, he hoped that the symbols could be magical...but nothing ever happened. It didn't stop him continuing drawing though.

The Time Trapper.
The Time Trapper.
The End of Time

In the end of Time, the being known as The Time Trapper could sense an anomaly in the timestream, connected to Izaac Masterson...to prevent the anomaly from corrupting time and space entirely, The Time Trapper sent Izaac's 15 years-old self to Alexandria in Ancient Egypt, to the time of Ptolemy I.

The Revelation

In Egypt, Izaac discovered that he actually was able to understand and speak the language of Ancient Egypt by just listening to what others said. But when he desperatly tried to explain his unusual situation to the royal guard, they, naturally, didn't believe him. Instead, they were on their way to imprison him since they believed him to be dangerous and even alien. But before they could, the Sun God Ra appeared and asked the guards to release Izaac. The guards didn't dare to disobey a God, so they released him. Izaac thanked Ra of wholeheartedly, but in the process he also asked Ra what was really going on. Ra, knowing that Izaac's story was true, revealed the rest of the truth. The Egyptian Gods weren't Gods, they were beings from the magical world Zerox. And since thousands of years, Zerox have had an organisation of guardians around the planets. Ra was Earth's current guardian, but he had assumed many aliases and guises, as well as having helpers. Those became the "Gods". Ra explained that the likely reason to why Izaac was sent to this time was because he probably had something he must do there before he could return. "Why couldn't just you send me home?" Izaac asked. "I could, but you would probably be forced to return." Wanting to help, Ra offered to Izaac that he could do the official training for a magical guardian, thinking that he might be an appropriate guardian for the future he came from, and that one of the guardian powers would include time travel. Izaac, desperate to go home, accepted. But first, Izaac had to study. Learn the basics of Zerokian magic. "And here, is a very good place to learn that. The Library of Alexandria, a gathering of all knowledge the Egyptians, the Greeks and the other societies they know of, have ever know. And that includes magic." Ra explained. "But isn't that dangerous, having essays of Zerokian magic, here on Earth?" Izaac was puzzled. "Containing the information and actually understanding the language are two entirely different things. The few scriptures about magic on Earth was found in Atlantis, an ally to Zerox. But the Egyptians could never deceipher the language. But they still have it in the library. And you, you have a natural talent for language. You learned Egyptian really fast, didn't you? I don't know why you shouldn't be able to learn Zerokian by reading the text. Don't let the Egyptians see you reading it though. Be subtle." Izaac was given temporary invisibility powers to get the papyrus scrolls from the library. He learned the language in no time, and he learned that every magician used magic in a unique way, some used just their mind, some used spells, some commanded the nature, some used artifacts, and finally, some used magic by drawing and/or making symbols. The last option was really appealing to Izaac, so he chose that. The instruction was to concentrate on a symbol and then choose one of its possible effects. He tried it on a plant symbol, it was more difficult than he thought to make a whole new plant rising up from the ground. It was much easier to just manipulate the growth of plants that were already there. He learned that the art of using magic through symbols was called "Emblymian Naronya". After a few hours of studying, he told Ra that he was ready for the Trials. But it was just a lie, he wasn't ready at all, but he didn't want to admit it, he just wanted to go home.

The Trial of Water

Ra could sense that Izaac lied, but chose to not care about it. After all, had he himself been truly ready when he first gone through his trials? He instructed Izaac to go to a certain cave, there he would meet a greek Sphinx. The Sphinx would then play a game with Izaac. Izaac agreed and went to the cave. While there, the Sphinx suggested that they would play chess. As many magical beings, the Sphinx had knowledge from many different eras, even the future, which is why she knew about the game. Izaac agreed, and started. After a while, the Sphinx made a false move with one of the pieces. Izaac told her that it wasn't allowed, but she repliad with a poisonous tone in her voice. "You dare questioning me?" Izaac tried to remember one of the symbols he had learned in case he would need to fight. As he remembered a symbol for ice and cold, his eyes and hands started to glow. "As a matter of fact, I..." He calmed down and imagined that the Sphinx was probably able to take whatever he could throw at her, so he backed away. "...don't. I lost, you won. No problem." "Fine." Izaac walked out of the cave, thinking he had lost. But Ra told him otherwise. "Times like these, logic is more important than correctness and order. You figured that she was more powerful than you, and she is, so you backed away. I'm impressed, many aspiring wizards don't go this far, they're too overwhelmed with pride and a clouded sense for justice. You've earned the first permanent symbol memory." Ra's eyes glowed a second, and the first symbol, the symbol of water and everything it stands for - water, moisture, ice, and shadow - was branded into Izaac's memory. Nothing could make him forget it now.

The Trial of Air

This challenge was as strange as the first. Ra instructed Izaac to sneak in to the royal palace to get the royal double crown. Izaac was puzzled and he hesitated, but Ra told him to not question. Wanting to go home, Izaac proceeded to do what he was told. Of course, it didn't turn out to be easy. Two guards stood in the way, and they would not let anyone pass. Izaac concentrated on the water symbol he had learned and created several large blocks of ice around the guards, trapping them. Finding the double crown, Izaac escaped from the palace. There were now more guards, possibly around ten, approaching him. Realising the same trick won't work for so many, he blasted loads of water and ice of high pressure against each of the guards. With this kind of beatdown, the guards were unable to do anything. Handing the double crown to Ra, Izaac learned that he had passed the Trial of Air, granting a symbol of everything Air stands for - wind, speed, sound and travel. As an addition, Ra erased the memories from the guards and put the double crown back in its right place.

The Trial of Fire

This was the first test that made somewhat sense to Izaac. Ra took them both to a small Egyptian village and showed Izaac a couple of teenagers, around his own age, in a group. All of the kids had shaved heads, as was the tradition of Ancient Egypt. But it took some minute for Izaac to actually see what happened. "They are...beating that kid!" he said, a bit shocked. "That's a correct observation. What you will do here today...is deliver justice." Izaac didn't hesitate, he walked, determined towards the group, and said coldly "Stop it.". One of them, possibly the oldest one, turned to Izaac. "And you, strange-clothed boy, think you can make us stop?" The voice was toned with anger and frustration. To Izaac's surprise, this...leader, possibly...had powers of himself. The leader's hands were now covered with fire. Izaac stepped back. He could see how the other in the group were turning to him as well. "I do think that. You're not the only one with unusual ability." Izaac now concentrated on the symbol of Water again. The symbol would appear as a light construct circling around Izaac's hand. The reaction the group had was clearly surprise, and also fear. However, the leader still thought himself to be more powerful. He sent a massive blast of flame towards Izaac, but Izaac was determined. Nothing would stand between him and justice. With a twich of his eye, the flames were toned down, freezing. A second later, the leader's hands were frozen. The group were now not only afraid, they were terrified. They all ran away, except for their victim, a kid younger than them. The kid lied on the ground, obviously hurt. He had a lot of bruises, but nothing seemed to be broken. "Hey, I can ease the pain a bit." Izaac targeted his cold power towards the bruises to ease. "Oh and, I don't think you have to worry about those other people. They won't dare to do anything now." Ra walked towards them. The kid walked away. Izaac was a bit puzzled. "Shouldn't he have bowed down to you or something?" "He couldn't see me. I'm invisible now....it's just you who can see me. And you passed the test. You didn't use enough power to kill them or wound them, which is good. You just gave them a shock to stop what they did." A third symbol was branded into Izaac's memory. A symbol of Fire and everything it stood for - flame, light, radiation and electricity.

The Trial of Earth

"This test will show one of the many tasks a guardian may get. Artifact hunting. Or archaeology." Ra told Izaac to walk into a pyramid to retrieve an artifact called "Amulet of Anubis". Thanks to Ra's help, Izaac could phase through the gate to get in there. While there, he began walking through the corridors. There were lots of scriptures on the wall and objects that would be worth billions of dollars in the present. After walking for some hour, he heard something move. "Who's there?" No one answered. He continued walking, and after a while the walls began closing in. It wasn't possible to go anywhere, because the gate he had walked through was closed. He looked around for clues and ways to escape. Then, he saw the Eye of Ra in the ceiling. He figured standing under it would symblize "being watched by the Gods" hence he wouldn't get hurt there. And he was right, the moment he ran over there, a gate opened where he could escape. But the corridor he went through now was dark. He draw the symbol of Fire to illuminate the surrounding with pure light. There were scriptures and pictures on the walls describing horrible things, he couldn't exactly understand what, but apparently something very dangerous had been plauging Egypt and sealed in this very Pyramid. Now he heard something move again. As he looked up, he saw a huge rock falling down. With his Fire symbol already activated, he sent a beam of concentrated light to shatter the rock, and it worked. To protect himself from the smaller rocks, he created a forcefield from the same "hard light". Suddenly, there was an end gate. There were symbols on the gate saying "You have been warned. Going any further will release Mordru." Izaac raised an eyebrow. "Mordru? It doesn't matter what's being kept in here I need to go further." He opened the gate and saw the Amulet of Anubis lying on a table. "There." When he went over there and touched it, something very cold went through him. A person was standing there as Izaac turned around. "Greetings. I am Mordru." He said nothing more when a bright light encased them both. About an hour later, Izaac woke up in the same room. He didn't remember what had happened to make him pass out, but as soon as he saw the Amulet of Anubis, he grabbed it and ran out of the Pyramid. Ra was waiting on the outside. Ra said that the test was won, and that there would only be one another test. Then Izaac remembered. "Is there anything you didn't tell me about this Pyramid and the amulet? It seems pretty much so." "And what would that be?" "Me." A very deep and confident voice was heard. Izaac looked up. "Mordru!" "That's exactly who I am, boy." Ra didn't say anything, he just sent a beam of solar energy towards Mordru. But it didn't help. Mordru just deflected it. Mordru aimed a beam of energy towards Ra, and then Izaac felt something in his head that made him pass out.

Mordru.

The Conflict

When Izaac woke up, his mind was dizzy, but he could tell that he was not in Ancient Egypt anymore. When his mind cleared, he looked up, and it seemed like he was in some kind of hospital, but it looked different than hospitals Earth has, or will have. He grabbed the Amulet of Anubis that laid beside him, strange enough, and he walked away and ran out from the building. He could see a big city with magnificent buildings that looked like they were made of crystal. He realised where he was. Planet Zerox. The center of Magic in the Universe. And if he was here...then Mordru and Ra would probably be here too. In the instant he thought that, the skies turned red. Something, obviously, was wrong. Seeing that the red light originated from a central tower in the city, Izaac decided to go there and see what had happened. But first, there was something he needed to know. "Did I receive the last power..." He tried to remember. He could remember four symbols. One for each challenge. "I guess I did. Let's go." He drew the symbol of Air and flew at near supersonic speed towards the tower. The tower had a large hole that didn't look like it was intended, someone had broken in. He flew through the hole, and the sight was not very pleasant. The Council of Zerox that had their headquarters here had all been possessed by Mordru and turned into zombies. Not wanting them to stand in the way, Izaac made the Earth symbol, concentrated a bit, and made vines go through the floor and trap the council members. Mordru just looked disappointed. "You do know that I can make them escape those vines really easy?" Mordru asked with a bitter tone. "You could try. The vines contain a poison that disables anyone to be controlled from the outside. In fact, the 'poison' actually helps them break out of your control as we speak." Mordru's disappointed face turned into a very angry one. He raised his fist and it started to spark with fire and energy. He planned to land a magic blast on Izaac, but Izaac deflected the blast with a forcefield, summoned through the symbol of Fire. Continuing the use of Fire power, he sent loads of flames to Mordru, but it seemed to have no effect. Trying another way, he sent a blast to the ceiling right above Mordru, hoping it would break and fall down over him. It worked, and it took a long time before Mordru got himself out of the rubble. And when he did, Izaac sent even more rubble in his way and freed the Council members, now also free from Mordru's influence. Izaac picked up the Amulet of Anubis and held it in his hand and concentrated on it. "I do believe that you should go back to where you belong." Izaac said, with his eyes glowing red. Mordru had no choice but to be trapped within the amulet. It was then Izaac put away the Amulet and saw Ra lying unconscious on the other side of the room. Ra woke up and greeted Izaac. "You have done very well. This...incident...and how you solved it...may very well work as a substitute for the Trial of Eternity. You have reveived the last symbol and the final component of your powers. Congratulations. You can now go wherever you want in time." "Thank you. It has been an honor to meet you Ra, and a pleasure to be your student." It was not a thing Izaac would typically say, but he figured that he needed to be a bit formal since it was a special moment. The last symbol, the symbol of Eternity, was now branded into his memory, granting lots of various abilities including chaos magic, telepathy, telekinesis, immortality and other. "It has been great to be your master. Not everyone has been a teacher to someone who defeated Mordru. I think you deserve a little extra." Izaac was a bit surprised, but he felt something strange inside his mind, it was as if something wanted to move out. When he looked down, he saw a flow of blue energy going from his own mind to the ground, forming something...it turned out to be an animal. More accurately, a snow leopard. "She is...your psi-animal. A manifestation of your own subconscious mind in an animal form. There...is something that most people of your kind lacks." "Thank you, thank you a lot..." "Now, go home. That's where you have wanted to go all the time." The psi-animal reached out her mind to Izaac's, talking to him telepathically. "I am...Zoria. That is my name, but it's your name as well as mine. Because I am you...and you are me." Izaac did appreciate that he had a new friend that would always be around. "Well, that is cool." He looked towards Ra and the Council members as he visualized the Air symbol, forming a blue portal resembling an aurora borealis (northern lights) but more solid. "Goodbye."

The Rescue and the Confrontation

He walked through the portal together with Zoria and they found themselves falling through the timestream. As they fell, Izaac could see random events happening in the various times he passed. But surprisingly, he didn't aim for his home time. He aimed for the End of Time, where he would find The Time Trapper and confront him. But even though he aimed for the End of Time, he couldn't help stopping at a time close to his own...where he saw a little kid run in front of a speeding car. He rushed out of the time stream and made a force field to push the kid out of the way. Next second, he was back in the timestream, once again aiming for the end of time. After a few minutes, he and Zoria arrived inside a strange building. A person in a purple robe with a hood stood there. Izaac didn't doubt a second that it was The Time Trapper. "You! Why did you send me to Egypt?" A sigh could be heard. "Well...it was necessary for you to survive. An unfinished time loop was connected to you, and to make you complete it, I had to send you to Ancient Egypt for you to gain your power. It is a bit complicated, but the point is that you shouldn't really have to ask. I'm surprised you haven't already figured out." Izaac stopped for a moment and thought. It suddenly became clear. When he rushed out of the timestream to save that kid, he had saved himself. "I...see. Nevermind. Sigh." Izaac cursed himself for forgetting to think. He really wondered why a sinister being like The Time Trapper had bothered to care for some kid, but he didn't ask. He just returned to the timestream with Zoria to go home. When Izaac had gone, The Time Trapper sighed with relief. "You will see someday why I did care for your safety...you have a lot to learn." The Time Trapper removed his hood, and the face of a slightly more aged, and bearded, Izaac Masterson could be seen.

The Return

Izaac was glad to finally see his home. He had been gone for over a week, but he had gone to this specific time were he had just gone away. He could even see the light from the portal sending him away in the first place. But a thought striked him, how was he going to explain to everybody he knew that he had now a snow leopard that was a part of himself? Zoria herself answered the question, but in a way that wasn't very helpful. "I can be more than a snow leopard...I can be a falcon if you want." "Right...as if that wouldn't receive any attention." But Izaac let the thought go away, after all, he could improvise now that no time loop controlled him.

We Are Legend

It didn't take long time until the Guardians of Magic from Zerox (of the present) appointed Izaac to be the magical guardian of Earth of his time. He accepted, and he soon moved to Los Angeles to join the superhero team We Are Legend. Since he had not yet figured out a codename for himself, media dubbed him "Twilight Man". He liked the name first, but soon started disliking it. Due to his new hobby to travel around time and the Multiverse, he named himself The Wanderer.

Recent Events

The Wanderer was present for the events of Controversial Chaos and The Gift and the Curse. After a while, he joined the team Kick-Ass Squad and helped taking down a couple of mutant-hunting giant robots, called Sentinels. Later on, he was asked by Kurrent to join his new team Veritas Inc after his old team, Mobb Deep, disbanded. The Wanderer was reluctant at first, but accepted. That would eventually be his downfall. On the first mission for Veritas Inc, Wanderer had to close a dark interdimensional gate, and after that, he had launched his spear at Gambler. The effect was more devastating than he had expected, instead of leading away Gambler's attention from the wounded Kurrent as he had hoped, the spear struck Gambler, and this ultimately led to Gambler being shot down by NATO troops. Because of the horrific telepathic feedback, Wanderer's mind couldn't take it any longer, and his lifeforce dissipated along with his daemon, Zoria.

What is known so far...

The Wanderer knows nothing about about his life preceding the point of waking up on the inside of a grave. Almost instantly teleporting across the World, ending up on the inside of one of the Pyramids of Giza, he was approached by Anubis, God of the Dead, who gave Wanderer some cryptic hints as well as giving him a weapon, a spear. One of the hints was a mental picture of the We Are Legend headquarters in Los Angeles. Figuring he could teleport there the way he had done to the pyramid, he concentrated on the picture he had seen, and he succeeded. To be continued later!

Possessions

The Ring

A magic ring is given to every magical guardian. It can be used to switch from normal clothes to uniform/costume, telepathic communication tool, as well as tracking magical energies.

The Spear

Every guardian has also a spear that can be used to channel magic through. It is composed by mainly a silver/steel alloy. This can be summoned or removed by the ring.

The Silver Bracelets

This is an element of the guardian uniform Izaac Masterson has created himself. The bracelets are composed by three main parts of a very hard, still very light, silver alloy. They are durable enough to deflect bullets or swords without any damage on them (though it can be assumed that the impact will be quite hard on Izaac himself). Taking them off without removing the whole uniform requires phasing ability, but that was solved later on by making them react on human thought.

WAL Communicator

Every member of We Are Legend has a communicator. Its main function is explained by its name.

1st Generation Powers & Weaknesses

Powers:
Izaac is a junior master in the artform called Emblymian Naronya. (Can be translated into English as "Applied Symbol Magic".) Emblymian Naronya works in the way that
Izaac can with his mind manipulate naronyan particles (the particle that most magic and unexplained powers in the Universe work through) to manifest as holographic projections of light, and by forming the light into 5 main symbol patterns, he can generate lots of various effects. (There are more symbol patterns that can be learned, but those he has to learn by himself on the planet Zerox.) The energy required to generate the effects is drawn from the nearest star (most often Sol) and then converted into wished energy form. When Izaac uses (or has used) more than three symbols/powers, his skin will take a on shining lightblue tone, looking like ice. That effect will remain some hour even after he stopped using those symbols. Also, Izaac has a natural ability to learn languages very quickly by hearing or reading it. It is unknown from where he has got that ability, it is known that he have had it shortly before he was sent to Ancient Egypt.
  • Water: The Trial of Water gave Izaac the ability to manipulate darkness, water and cold.
  • Earth: The Trial of Earth gave him the power to manipulate the earth in form of rocks, vegetation and other things found in nature, and also the ability manipulate organic matter.
  • Fire: The Trial of Fire gave him Pyrokinesis, electricity manipulation and light manipulation.
  • Air: The Trial of Air gave him the gifts of flight, superhuman speed, wind manipulation and the ability to manipulate tachyons (granting teleportation, portal creation and limited time control).
  • Eternity: The Trial of Eternity, the last trial, granted Izaac the power of immortality (inability to age beyond 18 years of physical age unless he wishes otherwise). As the final magical component, he too gained telepathy, telekinesis, various magical abilities, and an undescribable ESP-like power. He also gained the ability to merge with Zoria to shapeshift into a chosen mythical being such as a dragon or a phoenix. The ESP and the immortality don't require Izaac to draw the Eternity symbol to work.
    Zoria, snow leopard form.
    Zoria, snow leopard form.

Zoria's Powers: Zoria is mostly in the shape of a purple falcon or a snow leopard, but does occasionally take the form of a giant blue dragon. Her falcon form possesses the ability to generate and control fire (like a phoenix), her snow leopard form controls the wind and cold and possesses superhuman strength and agility, and the dragon form is incredibly strong and durable, as well as possessing the powers of flight, ice breath, and concussive eye blasts. As mentioned earlier, Izaac can merge with Zoria to shapeshift into mythical beings.

Weaknesses: A mental block prevents Izaac from constantly using his powers or using them without drawing the symbols unless it is a desperate emergency. The time limit created by this block is about 50 minutes from the moment the symbol is drawn. Uniterrupted use of a power lasts for 50 minutes, if interrupted or stopped, the symbols require renewal. The block also limits the range of the control of his powers to about a 9 meter radius. (For instance, he could send away a beam of light that would go beyond 9 meters, but the control of the light will cease beyond the limit.) If the range is exceeded, the time left to use the power will shorten. This range limit does not apply to flight, teleportation, superhuman speed, portal creation and telepathy however. The transportation powers are believed to be unlimited in range (though, knowing where he teleports or open a portal to will certainly help). The telepathy range has not been measured, but it is believed that if Izaac is on the top of Empire State Building, he could reach any mind in New York City, for instance. If he would attempt to use his powers (other than a selected few) without drawing the symbols, the energy required would be drawn from himself, which could make him exhausted, uncounscious or even dead.

Additional Powers

The following powers can only be accessed through magic symbols learned through studying.
  • Molecular Transmutation
  • Phasing/Intangibility
  • Self-Sustenance
  • Summoning of Forces requiring hosts (such as Ion, Parallax, Eclipso, or the Firestorm matrix; Izaac will then assume the summoned being's traits and powers)

2nd Generation Powers & Weaknesses

Powers

These powers are the basic ones Wanderer has. So far he has only discovered Telepathy and Teleportation.
  • Telepathy: Ability to read thoughts and communicate using only his mind. He can, in theory, reach out to any individual in the World.
  • Telekinesis: Ability to manipulate and levitate matter with his mind. This works through imagining he himself is the object he manipulates. He has yet to learn how to use this power.
  • Teleportation: Ability to move through time and space without occupying the space in-between. So far he can only teleport to places in the present, and only to places he has been to before.
  • Elemental Magic: Manipulation of different types of elements; this power does not always work, depending on Wanderer's mood/emotional state. When angered or deeply upset, he gains the power to control fire and heat. When calmed down and/or happy, he gets the ability to manipulate water and cold/ice. When feeling philosophic, excited or hyper, he gets the ability to manipulate light to the extent of forming it into solid constructs (similar to constructs greated by Green Lantern rings) or powerful energy blasts. A light construct (for instance a forcefield) that is 1 centimeter thick can withstand a gunshot.
  • Self-Sustenance: While being in space or underwater, Wanderer can survive without ill effects for about two hours. Any longer than that, and he will lose his resistance to those elements.
  • Protection Aura: Wanderer has a subconscious aura to protect him from the effects of his own powers. For instance, if he would teleport into a solid object, the other object will break (though Wanderer might get stuck anyways), or when he manipulates fire the aura makes him immune to fire and extreme heat (though the aura generally just protects him from himself, if he's not using his fire powers he's vulnerable to fire; however if he's manipulating fire and is attacked from elsewhere with fire, then the attack will simply not have any effect).
  • Immortality & Regeneration: Wanderer cannot die by "natural causes" like diseases or old age. He would stay young forever. Wanderer can, if killed by an unnatural cause, regenerate completely. Though this will only take place after a long time (like a month), and he may get amnesia from it as well. A regeneration can change Wanderer's appearance and/or personality drastically. Wanderer can regenerate six times before dying permanently.
  • Omnilinguism: Ability to understand any type of language or code upon reading or hearing it.
  • Danger Sense: Ability to sense potential dangers around him.

Weaknesses/Limitations

  • Muteness: Wanderer can in no way to communicate vocally. This requires him to use his Telepathy to a great extent.
  • Amnesia: Wanderer doesn't remember anything about his own life, but does remember theoretical facts he has learned.
  • Knowledge Limit: Most of Wanderer's powers can't be used if he does not know how it works or what to use them for. For instance, he can't control an object telekinetically if he can't see it or interpret it any way with his powers.
  • Physical Injury: Wanderer's physical resistance is not higher than that of an average human, and he also heals wounds as slowly.
  • Telepathic Feedback: Wanderer can be very sensitive to telepathic feedback from people around him if his telepathic ability is used for too long. It can, for instance, be extremely dangerous for him to be close to a person dying by an unnatural cause, as this would give Wanderer the person's feelings and emotions as he/she dies. If he has not used his telepathy for more than a about half an hour, this doesn't have the same impact.
  • Toxic Radiation: Radiation like X-rays or radioactive radiation can render Wanderer's powers useless. Meaning, if Wanderer were to die from radiation poisoning, he would die permanently.
  • Neuron Disruption: If Wanderer gets a brain injury that disrupts his neurons, he won't be able to use his powers, hence, this can be deadly for him.

New Bio!

Hey peeps, today I resurrected The Wanderer (in the When Clones Attack RPG) after having killed him off in the Whatever it Takes RPG...and I've made some drastic changes. But since my bio won't save when I try to edit it...I'll just post everything here instead ^^' You can give feedback on the new powers and everything here if you want.

Knowledge is Power! ™

If you want to read the old bio, see my Izaac Masterson page.

Basic Powers & Weaknesses

I doubt it...

Give up the use of my legs for the powers of Prof. X? Telepathy, mind control, astral projection, etc? No thanks. I think most things I could read from other people's minds are things I don't really want to know. Plus, even though mind control would be something one could want at times, you can misuse it way too easily.

But even though I kinda described psychic powers as negative above here, I'm not saying that I don't want them. Though, had I been asked to give away my voice instead the use of my legs, to use Prof X's powers, then sure, go ahead, give me the power already :P.

Hmm...

I think I would want a prequel series about Kyle Rayner and the GL Corps...

...what would you think about that?

No!

The Punisher...absolutely not. He's not sane enough in my opinion...

Batman, Nightwing or Daredevil...now that would be something I could live with.
