@ian_idyll: Hey. I was wondering, since I'm advancing to the next round, if you wanted to continue with this battle or not? We can, I'd be delighted too, but I wanted to ask you first.

@ian_idyll"Okay. That's better." I stated once I had collected my thoughts. I think those of us that don't enter the fray too often forget how much some things actually hurt; i.e. like being thrown against a wall. Although, from the sheer brutality of the attack, I could tell more damage was hoped for and expected, but I stood now with only minor injuries to my face. A gash on my cheek and a dislocated shoulder from landing improperly.

I wiped away some blood from my face, my hand trembling slightly. "Good. You're willing to kill. That's the kind of fire I wanted to see. Promise you won't be throwing anymore damn books" I was stalling slightly. I needed to accommodate and adjust my strategy for fighting someone that could teleport. People like him watch for any opening possible, which meant distances would be a problem; left too many ways to attack. I was never one for close combat, in fact, hand to hand was something I'd neglected to make part of my skill set. That is not to say that I couldn't throw a punch, you don't meet the kind of people I've met and not pick up a thing or two. But still, the closer to him, the less likely it would be that he would be able to catch me by surprise again. I'd do what I must to win.

Wiping more blood away from my face, I thought about using the water from the exposed pipes to heal myself, but I'd save that trick for when it was completely necessary. For now, I used my telekinetic abilities to jerk my arm back into place, I winced in pain. My eyes watered a bit as well.

Relying solely on telekinetic abilities now, I closed the distance between us. "That was smart of you, trying to one hit K.O. me like that. But we've got time. No need to rush...Oh, by the way, call me Sojourn. I want you to be able to tell everyone who kicked your ass" The same light emblazoned my eyes, and also began to appear as soft will o wisps around my body. Using my own flight ability, and my telekinetic power, jetted towards my opponent. Hoping he wouldn't teleport, but anticipating that he would, I would attempt to drive a swift TK amplified punch to his gut, which would damage his internal organs with an immediate effect. But if he teleported, I was energized enough to keep going for a while. How long was the only question. I knew what I had to offer to myself, a list of powers, intellect, superior agility. But what I think made me special is my beliefs, the river running within my soul, the ocean of of ideals that I stood on. I was fighting for a world out there, and not some selfish whim.

@ian_idyll:

"Talk what out? There is nothing to say, and everything to do!" Just then, the young man heaved a book of sizable weight at me. "Please tell me that you've got more in store for me than that." Easily, I shifted slight to the left avoiding the book all together. Behind me the sound of tell tale fluttering pages and a final 'thud' sounded. "This is the KOV. Some of the strongest beings on the planet are fighting to win the prize and the title. If throwing books is your game, then I sincerely think you should bow out now, and save yourself some embarrassment."

A familiar soft blue light emanated from my eyes, a signature of my powers activating. The torn and broken books feet below me begin to shift, and lift, rising from the literary graveyard they'd only recently been buried in. There had to be hundreds of them. Alighting to a position higher than myself. It was a cloud on a rainy day, casting a shadow vast enough to significantly darken the already sepia lit building. One by one, I cast them down, like large chunks of hail. "I'm not going to hold back." It was a lie of sorts. Of course I was holding back, there was no reason to go all out now. Half of me hoped I could move on easily to the second round, the other half hoped this man would turn into some sort of monster and give me something worth my time here in the competition. "They're not particularly aerodynamic but, I think they'd do for a good pummeling." One by one, book by book, I shot down in his direction, attempting to inflict an amount of damage on him.

@ian_idyllI continue to peruse the ails knowing that at any moment, I could be under attack. I was never the type of strike first. But this was the perfect opportunity to rewrite that part of who I was. Things were changing in the world, I was part of it, I had to change too. Usually to complete opposite of reckless, because my power was so vast, I exercised caution and care, but these people around me knew the world was a harsh and violent place. Why should a library be any different.

"If you wish to live. GET THE F!!! OUT NOW!" I shouted from the top of my lungs. I'm sure to lookers on, I seemed like a considerate terrorist, giving fair warning to those who didn't wish to experience my martyrdom. There was little effort in the way of self preservation, as one of the librarians shushed me, almost as loud as I had proclaimed. "Fine" I whispered, this time. In one swift motion, I bent down, legs perpendicular and quaking with excitement. In an eruption of telekinetic mastery, the book shelves lifted from the perched positions; wooden planks and screws jutting from the bottom. I allowed them to fall, as I had already taken to the air hovering above the second floor. There was light coming from the east end, the double doors sat open with patrons running out.

"It's just you and me now kid." The damage that the multiples of bookshelves did to the ground floor was evident. Most had broken into stakes. Dangerous. But a few had collided in midair, and punctured the main floor exposing piping. I noted this but decided to bide. I believed that my opponent probably had good enough sense to take cover from the attack, and was waiting for his moment. "I'm right here. Come and get me."
