Abilities
The Kiss: Typically referred to simply and less eloquently as "Bloodsucking", Septimus has the ability to drain a target's blood through a ten foot long, retractable stinger in his mouth. After which point, he may begin extracting blood from his target.
The venom injected in the target is supernaturally potent, a neural agent that could halt an Elephant in it's tracks.
Ghoul: Through draining a human being's blood entirely, the Septimus can create what he refers to as a "Ghoul." This is functionally a lesser vampirific slave, who will follow his every command. These beings no longer feel pain and can only be killed via destruction to the head. However, they may be killed
The Embrace: The ability to turn a being into a vampire, like himself. They gain all of his abilities.
Celerity: Septimus, even in his weakened state, is fleet of foot when compared to human. He can move at dozens of miles per hour, and he can do so instantly. Unlike most humans, his speed extends to his every action when he wills it. He can run, fight and perform mundane tasks with an inhuman degree of acceleration. He is not faster than a bullet, but can be difficult for a singular marksman to pin down.
Potence: Inhuman Strength. At his most normal and his weakest state, he can lift a in the range of two tons with ideal positioning. His explosive striking power is such that he may send a man hurdling back several feet, and he can kill humans with a casual strike.
Resilence: Durability, toughness and Endurance. Only severe harm to the brain, or the head, will kill Septimus. His internal organs are decrepit, non-functional and thus the destruction of any of them result in very little damage. Damage to muscles impede movement as it would normally, as do broken bones. His body, however is hardier than most, being capable of being hit by a pickup truck at 50 miles per hour with simply some broken bones and still in fighting condition.
- Flammable: Septimus' body catches fire easily.
- Allergy: Septimus has a severe allergy to Garlic. It is a great irritant to him, and doucing him with it is comparable to being hit by military grade pepper spray for a human.
Daywalker:Sunlight does indeed harm Septimus, but he has grown so old that his body has seemingly developed a tolerance to it. The light from the sun is also very blinding to him, making it normally disadvantageous to fight it. Roughly, he can remain in the sun for approximately five minutes before beginning to blister. Damage from the sun is aggravated, however, and will not heal easily. And the more intense the sunlight, the greater the damage.
Exponence: Grows gradually stronger the more blood he consumes. (More detail soon.)
Bloodhound: Septimus has a notoriously keen sense of smell that particularly hones in on blood, enabling the vampire to track it's prey across states and even countries
Night Sight: An ability granted to Voracious to see in not only in low levels of light, but in nigh absolute darkness. This ability however has the drawback in that it is difficult for Septimus to see in particularly bright lights, let alone sunlight.
Inhuman Hearing: A particularly keen ability of auditory perception. Septimus can hear heartbeats from 20 feet away. This ability grows with Septimus' hunger, extending out roughly until he can find someone to feed on. Using his hearing, he can passively locate his “prey” and not only gain direction, but pinpoint where they are.
Sanguine Connoisseur: Voracious is able to decipher practically every aspect of one's blood, from scientific qualities such as its composition down to the last molecule, to conventionally undetectable things such as magic and any supernatural phenomena which cling to their very souls.
Nightmare
Voracious has the ability to add a supernatural touch to his warped appearance and use the Eldritch properties of his inner beast to induce intense psychological effects on any being unfortunate enough to perceive it.
Shriek: This ability is a loud, supernatural noise which Septimus may make which carries with it supernatural properties. It is goes beyond being a mere “scary noise” said that the howl carries with it the essence of fear itself, given the effects it has of inducing fear to all things that hear it. It amplifies fear and drives creatures that hear it beyond reason. It drives them to their “fight or flight” response. That “gut feeling.”
How people (and otherwise) react to fear can vary and how afraid someone already is plays a part. In those already afraid? It can amplify this fear to make people run or fight impulsively. Or most often, it makes people flee in terror doing whatever they believe will ensue survival. Those with sufficient willpower may stand it, but the mind is still yet forced back into it's base. Hands tremble. Aim is thrown off. The heart beats quickly and adrenaline removes much in the realm of rational thought.
Penance: Some vampires are often said to have a psychic power in their eyes which allows them to tap into the mind of others. Voracious possesses a similar ability in what he nicknames as “Penance.” The ability allpws Voracious to tap into his own inner beast and seemingly instill a visual illusion of what it is that they fear, a suffering shown to be caused often by those they have wronged. A haunting visage which they are alone and must confront their fears.
This ability requires direct eye contact and the victim must look into his eyes as he does it. Nightmares may be shunted forth by Septimus, be their own inner demons or both. It lasts for as long as direct eye contact is held. The ability requires a steely focus and Septimus in truth loses his ability to fight or to see anything beyond his target once he has them. The ability lacks vector or a medium through which it travels. It does send rays of psionic energy as mutants and other telepaths.
Eye contact alone, is all it takes.

Swordsmanship
Septimus has had over two thousand years of life, through which he has seen many conflicts of many natures across each era of civilization, across multiple continents.
It should come as little surprise, then, for Voracious to be at the very least familiar with each and every weapon that has ever been devised. His specialty and intimate familiarity however, lie in the two handed double edged sword. Most often, the two handed sword.
His vampirific strength and speed plays a part in his weapon's continued use, even in an age where such weapons are discarded for lighter weapons, but the foundation in which the weapon is found in the ancient art of german long sword fencing. But ultimately, his superhuman physical prowess serves as merely an enhancement to a bulk of his technique, flashier, high flying moves used as forceful finishers. Flashiness? It serves to demoralize the enemy or to simply pierce unusually thick armor on enemies, perhaps too large, uncaring or frightened like a deer in headlights to dodge. Conventional techniques, remain the simplest and most effective.
The use of the two handed sword in German Longsword fencing is based huten (defenses), fundamental “master cuts” (meisterhauen) and particular rules for using timing and force as necessary. Even with Septimus' strength, striking with a two handed sword requires more commitment than poking and probing the defenses with a shorter more nimble blade. Indeed, his own strength can allow it great speed and immense power, yet only compensate so much for the stark difference in size and weight between his greatswords and Zweihanders, and his own two hundred pound body. Thusly, his style requires a degree of patience and intuitive calculation to make decisive strikes, each strike having a purpose. Making use, of his power and reach, against smaller swords and the ever common unarmed combatant.
Defense lies in control of the blade and in angling. Held closer to his body, his balance increases greatly anf enables him to ward off incoming attacks. In parrying, Voracious holds his blade in such a way as to deflect the force of an opponent. In an age of such astutely sharp weapons, Voracious oftens deflects and parries in a way so as to not allow edges to clash, and defending against other blade regardless of sharpness. In countering, defense and attack become one, and the force of an opponent works against them as he moves his blade against their movement, the force of Voracious' attack and of the opponent's own movement, melding into one.
Half Swording and Blade Gripping: Voracious' hands are very familiar with coming in contact with the sharp end of a blade, and in a manner akin to gripping a spear or gripping a billard ball, he may hold the blade of his sword with his own hands. This gives him greater power, control and precision to better exploit weakpoints and parry, at the expense of range.
Taken a step further and Voracious can use supernatural strength and speed to catch and deflect blades with his bare (but preferably armored) hands without regard to sharpness.
Bullet Deflection: Firearms are among the most effective and common weapons,, dominating the battlefield throughout the ages and having made swords all but obsolete when it comes to modern warfare.
That is, unless one has the supernatural degree of skill and physical prowess to quickly close the distance. Through years of trial and error, Septimus eventually acquired sufficient skill to deflect a bullet with his blade in a manner conceptually similar to slanted armor. “Deflect” should not be confused for “block. “ Attempting to block a bullet with a normal sword results in the bullet piercing through the blade and presumably, the wielder as well. Instead, the bullet collides with the blade at an angle or may be sliced in half to demoralize the enemy. This serves the primary function of allowing the count of moonlight to block gunshots, arrows and thrown objects that aim for the vulnerable areas of head and heart.
Pankration: Ancient Mixed Martial Arts
In Rome, Septimus studied and fought using a combat system used by the Spartans, to the death and often in Wars. This style was called Pankration.
For him, this is functionally MMA without rules that inhibit illegal strikes such as spiking, rabbit punches, stomps , groin strikes, wrist locks, finger holds and very importantly to the vampire Vanguard biting. The art of war goes further unarmed vs armed fighting against various weapon on the ancient battlefield. In recent times, modern mixed martial arts has offered an array of new knowledge as it evolves and continues to offer numerous more effective techniques. Military combatives provide disarms and CQC with modern firearms.
Like any “complete” methodology of combat, Voracious' hand to hand can be divided between standup, clinching and ground fighting. Objectively, Septimus' fighting style is made to be able to be highly Amorphous, using techniques made to cause pain to easily incapacitate human mooks and using more efficient techniques against trained superhumans, all with varying levels of lethality depending on what he has and who he is facing. Simply put, within the two millenia, Septimus knows or at leaatbia familiar with most every martial art that exists, incorporating them all into his own style and executing them with superhuman physical prowess, combining skill and supernatural powers to engage opponents more powerful then he is.
Marksmanship and Gun-Play
Even with all of his powers, Septimus has still found use for firearms. They use less of his strength and energy, allowing him to keep the beast away longer and give him more endurance. They also travel faster and enable him to strike from what he would have considered extreme or impossible distances in the past. Hundreds of years of use has given him quite a bit of time to generally, play with most any firearm and acquire skills to use practically any firearm that exists, including weapons as complex as snipers.
Steady Hand: Voracious does not need to breath and thus does not suffer from idle sway. This makes his shots incredibly accurate with even smaller weapons and especially scoped weapons.
Recoiless: Septimus has the strength to absorb his weapon's recoil even in a relaxed state, offering him actually some
Run and Gun: Septimus can maintain his accuracy while running, jumping or otherwise moving expenditiously.
Spray: Septimus can accurately fire from the hip within CQC ranges.
Equipment
Armor Set:The armor was designed with utility and to cover Septimus' weaknesses. It is composed of Kevlar , Chainmail, Nomex and ballistic plates. The Black coloring of the armor is a delibertate choice, being used to absorb all incoming sunlight.
Zweihander: A monstrously sized six foot long doubled edged sword, boasting a blade length of five feet and a hilt size of a foot, this blade is taller than some people. Two parrying hooks along the side of the blade, aid in it's defensive application.The blade is forged of well compositioned alloy of iron, carbon, tungsten and vanadium, and is forged using a folded steel structure. The result is boasting a hard blade but with a soft core (to allow the blade to bend instead of snap.)
The blades great weight lends it great momentum for simply, smashing what it cannot cut. The weapon can be used to batter shields, upend knights from horseback and lop through multiple necks with a single swing.
Winchester Model 1897 Trench Gun: Twelve Gauge shotgun. Comes with an attachable bayonet.
Bowie Knife: A thick, steel knife who's design originates from American pioneer Jacob Bowie. Composed of a thick, folded carbon steel and tipped with an armor piercing tungsten carbide point, the blade is equally at home splitting skulls as it is wood. Indeed, it is said the original designs were very well capable of splitting hairs in two, and Voracious has indeed achieved this same degree of sharpness. The blade can cut off limbs and decapitate foes in the hands of a normal man, to speak little of what such a blade may accomplish with a diamond hard tip and in the hands of ab inhuman monster of Septimus' Strength.
Bayonet: A long, fixed blade knife that is capable of being attached to firearms, allowing rifles for example, to serve dual function of gun and spear.
Raging Bull: A .454 Casull Caliber Revolver with a muzzle energy of over 2.7 KJ. Roughly a one ton impact in the tiny space of a bullet..
LWRC M6: An assault rifle, chambered to fire the 5.56x45mm NATO or the larger, still accurate and more expensive 6.8 Remington SPC.
Custom Crossbow: A 150 ft-lb draw strength Tactical Crossbow, capable of taking down big game such as Grizzly Bears and other kindred. The crossbow is a specialized weapons with a few niche uses. One in particular, being that the arrow lodges in the opponent.
- Steel Bolt: Conventional Crossbow tips. Easy to make and capable of embing itself in steel and tearing through flesh.
- Obsidian: Molecularly sharp Volcanic Glass, holding an edge three nanometers deep. Glides smoothly through most manner of Flesh.
- Grapnel: Launches a grappling hook for ziplining, rappling and climbing.
