My Top 10 Spider-Man Villains

Hey guys, I've been wanting to make a top 10 list for a while and I decided to do it on something I've been wanting to talk about for a while. Spider-Man is possibly my favourite Super Hero, he's funny, he's smart, his stories are inventive and most of all he's got some of the best villains in Comics. So here's my list of My Top Ten Favourite villains in Spidey's Rogues Gallery.

List items

  • Nobody can deny, the impact The Goblin has had, not only on Spider-Man, but on the entire Spider-Man mythos and the history of Comics in general. Since causing the very first death of a main cast member in any Comic Book, Gwen Stacy, The Green Goblin has always come back to make Spidey's life a living Hell. Having a large connection to Peter not just as Spider-Man but also as Norman Osborn, the father of his best friend, Harry. The Green Goblin is what I like to say "Venom done right" someone who knows everything about Spider-Man (probably even less than Venom) and does whatever he can to use his information to constantly cause havoc in Peter's life. Being the cause of a lot of suffering to Peter by killing Gwen, Ben Reilly, Peter and M.J.'s daughter (supposedly) crippling Flash Thompson and causing a lot more of pain, Gobby won't stop until Spidey kills him or himself. Norman has also become an Avengers level Villain in the 'Dark Reign' story under the guise as 'The Iron Patriot'.

Peter Parker, the son without a father. Norman Osborn, the father without a son.

  • The first Villain to actually defeat Spider-Man. Doc Ock is a reflection of what Peter could have become. They are both scientists who were bullied and ridiculed and gained powers above ordinary people. The only difference is that Ock doesn't have the guilt of causing the death of someone close to him that makes Spider-Man who he is. Doc Ock has also been a big challenge for Spidey not only in fights but also creating 'The Sinister Six'. He's also highly intelligent, making him not only a physical threat but also one that needs more than just a punch or two.

  • Talk about a great villain, this gut completely kicks Venom's a## any day. Kraven is a hunter who is always after 'Big Game' and what game is bigger than your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. He's also one of the only villains who, supposedly, killed Spidey. If you want more on Kraven then please read 'Kraven's Last Hunt'.

  • Here it comes, by now there are a lot of people probably spamming the comments, but again let me explain. I really do like Venom, the idea of this character is genius, take a person who hates Spidey a lot and give every single detail of his life along with all his powers. Venom really is a great idea and really does deserve some high praise.......ALTHOUGH (I can hear the keyboards already) he really hasn't done anything with his information on Spidey and in all honesty the only reason I put him on this list very high, is because his character design is awesome and the concept is great. Apart from all that he's just become a 1 dimensional villain with nothing interesting going for him.

  • When a designer came across one of Norman Osborn's old Goblin Lairs, he found the Costume and Serum of The Goblin and tried to succeed where Norman failed, killing Spider-Man. He's less psychotic than Green Goblin and acts more calm and calculative, he's given Spidey some really tough moments.

  • Another classic villain, who once managed to turn all of New York against Spidey. He was a former SFX employee for Movies and then tried to become a Hero by, framing another Hero (I don't think he really thought this through).

  • Another Villain that Spidey can't beat by brute force, always a tough foe.

  • Elektro is again a cool idea, a human generator, who is one of the few villains Spidey can't win against just by brute force, which leads Spidey to use his intellect.

  • I just love Rhino, it's basically giving an incompetent lackey a large Rhino suit to plow into things with his head, seems legit.

  • A lot of people may HUGELY disagree with Carnage being only at number 10 and let me explain. While Carnage is a good concept, that's all he has going for him, a good concept, which is basically having a blood red symbiote and attach him to a deranged psychopath. That vision, in-and-of itself is great, but he has no real motive, just constant blood-lust. So Carnage is on the list because of his great concept...O'k I will give him credit, he's just awesome to look at and he's also really tough (it took Spider-Man and Venom to take him down and they barely succeeded).
