Accolades

Kingpai died from a single blow to his throat. Apparently the enemy was quite skilled.

Rarou, Sword of the Stranger (2009)
This is the second time I've met someone this good. . . . An acquaintance from a long time ago. He was a comrade when I was serving in Ooatari province. We both tried to gain fame and fortune through war, but after a certain victorious battle, he decided to disappear. He came to dislike war. . . . His heart was weak. In the end, he was a fool, throwing away his gift from heaven.
Shogen Itadori, Sword of the Stranger (2009)
I'm more worried about the person who killed Kingpai.
Killing both Suishin and Fuugo . . . He's quite a man.
Now I feel that it was good that I came to this country. I've finally met someone who's worth fighting.Rarou, Sword of the Stranger (2009)

Weapons

Seemingly standard katana.

  • Uses dye-nuts to unbalance Fuugo. (Nanashi vs Ming Warriors at Mangaku temple)
  • Uses snow to obstruct Rarou's vision. (see Nanashi vs Rarou [Round 2])

Achievements

Nanashi vs Akaike Province Warriors and Ming Warrior Kingpai: Without drawing his blade, Nanashi defeats his two foes.

Rarou refers to Kingpai as a "fairly skilled warrior."

Nanashi vs Rarou (Round 1): Nanashi contends with Rarou until he departs.

Nanashi vs Thieves: Nanashi stomps thieves with his unsheathed blade and a pebble.

Nanashi vs Ming Warriors at Mangaku temple: Nanashi defeats executor, a nameless Ming, Fuugo, and Suishin partially while blinded by their blood.

Nanashi vs Rarou (Round 2): Nanashi contends and defeats Rarou by the skin of his teeth (more of an "any given Sunday" victory).

While blinded, fatigued, and injured, Nanashi refuses to take the Ming drugs that will nullify his ailments before fighting Rarou.

"I don't need it. Pain makes me feel like I'm more alive."
