Black Orchid Respect Thread

Black Orchid

No Caption Provided

Orchid is the leader of an Eastern European spy ring known as the Disavowed. All of the members of this organization claim to have been wronged by Ultratech, and their goal is to bring down the megacorporation using sabotage, infiltration, industrial espionage and guerrilla warfare tactics.

Fighting ability

Training and background

- Orchid's father, Jacob, a member of the elite Seal Team 6 started training her in hand-to-hand combat, firearms and the melee weapons he’d learned to wield on a military base in the Philippines: the spring batons in her adolescence.

- For 2 years she and her father lived isolated in the mountains, him focused on honing her skills and abilities to the best of her ability.

- 1 year later, after Jacob's apparent death, Orchid joined the Special Warfare Department (SWD): a covert ops wing of Homeland Security, at the behest of her father's long time friend, Major Weaver. Orchid plunged headlong into the intense training. Besides courses in espionage and killing techniques, she was taught how to speak Chinese and Russian fluently. She also became an expert in HAHO (high-altitude/high-opening) parachute jumping.

- Over the next decade Orchid successfully completed missions in Chechnya, Russia, China and Africa for the SWD. Finally, Major Weaver assigned Orchid to a deep cover operation at Ultratech itself, posing as a research scientist. She escaped the facility in the chaos after her cover was blown, in the midst of a massive explosion.

- Disavowed after the Ultratech mission, Orchid utilized all of the survival skills taught to her by her father, and the espionage training of the SWD, it wasn’t long before Orchid started "the Disavowed" and recruited its first members.

.

"Running under the archway and its smoking guns, Maya called up at the turret, “Good boy,” then headed toward the main courtyard, dashing through the opening and down a narrow lane, emerging onto the grassy plaza that was now slick with blood. Dead Stalkers and wrecked Mark 03 battle cyborgs lay everywhere, but the place was still crawling with invaders—twenty or more of the enemy combatants. Jago and Orchid were standing back to back a hundred meters away, valiantly fending off their attackers, but they were surrounded and woefully outnumbered. The sentry guns mounted on the walls were blazing away, but for every Stalker or cyborg that was destroyed, three more came to take their places." - KI Novella Chapter 6

Firecat Projectiles - While partially transformed / focusing her Firecat abilities, Orchid is able to summon energy projectiles in the form of jaguars, that run across the ground and can do great damage to what ever they collide with.

.

"The most important aspect of the training, however, was teaching her to summon the Firecat. Anger, her father explained, was a powerful emotion, but it was useless in battle. A soldier had to be laser-focused on simultaneously killing the enemy and staying alive. And to do this they had to practice emergency conditioning—mentally preparing for any kind of combat situation through pre-visualization. He had her create a mental trigger for calling the Firecat, and rather than associating it with something bad like rage or humiliation, he told her to think of something that made her feel proud and strong. Orchid followed his advice and felt her hands start to glow with energy, and then the Firecat burst forth, obliterating an old car that sat in the compound. It was a joyous feeling." - Firecat Summoning

Orchid / Jago Training:

.

She gazed down at the citadel. From this height it looked like a model in a museum display. She could still see Jago and Orchid at their training, but they were the size of ants. A few llamas stood nearby the makeshift combat arena, chewing the grass, inured to the violent exercises that now took place in their home every day.

“They never stop,” said TJ.

“Jago and Orchid are preparing themselves for war,” said Maya.

Eventually, she regained the full force of her powers, and once she did, Kerrigan knew of her presence.

Gargos and Eyedol vs. Shao Kahn and Shinnok

The Setup: A Clash of Titans

Shao Kahn and Shinnok have reached a truce. Shinnok has allowed Shao Kahn to merge Earth with Outworld, and Kahn has allowed Shinnok to take hold of the planet's Jinsei. They would work together to assault the heavens and take war to the Elder Gods

Once they were poised for their ultimate attack however, Outworld is invaded.

It started slowly, and undercover; Gargos was able to set the stage for his corruption to take hold in Outworld through his Shadow demons possessing many of the powerful inhabitants of Outworld. It would seem that Shinnok and Kahn's arrogance left a blind spot. With his minions in control of various points of the world, portals all over Outworld opened and open war began. Shinnok, Shao Kahn, and the strongest of their forces stood unflinching in the chaos, showing all who stood before them the extent of their Killer Instinct, until finally their would-be conqueror made his presence known.

Face to face with the Fallen God Shinnok and the Outworld Emperor Shao Kahn, Gargos stood in defiance, confident in his own power. But then...a smirk came across the Shadow Lord's face as the atmosphere in the area changed, and in a flash the Eyedol appeared. Resurrected from death by Kan-ra himself, Eyedol stood with his killer (Gargos) ready to destroy any who would deny him his vengeance.

In a berserker roar, Eyedol bellowed a horrible sound, and rushed right in to take on the powerful duo in Mortal Kombat.

Pirate Battle: Edward Kenway (AC) Vs. Spinal (KI)

Edward Kenway

No Caption Provided

Vs.

Spinal (for more info click here)

No Caption Provided

The Setup:

In search of a mysterious artifact known as "the Mask of Ancients," Edward finds himself exploring an island rife with enemy soldiers. Dispatching them one after the other, Kenway makes his way across the island only to finally come upon a band of soldiers who were seemingly successful in finding the mask.

No Caption Provided

Digging it up from under a large and twisted palm tree, a old chest was uncovered...covered unfamiliar glyphs markings. They opened the chest...the mask! The leader of the soldiers took charge, and the others fell back. He grabbed it.

Upon touching the mask the sun began to recede in the clouds, and the ground began to quake. All of a sudden an ominous chantey could be heard on the wind... The wind became brisk, and the atmosphere became heavy. From the ground a portal opened, and through it an eerie green light emerged...

No Caption Provided

Spinal, armed with his fabled living shield and ancient Babylonian sword, howled in a ghastly fashion just before reveling in the blood of the band of soldiers. Kenway seeing all this just wanted to turn and run...but he needed the Mask. Dropping from the tree tops, Kenway addresses the ghostly skeleton...

"Give me the mask you won't be hurt," he said in voice full of bravado and bluster.

Spinal, bones creaking and chattering, gave Kenway an inquisitive look, but simply stood his ground and howled again. Eyes burning with a bright greenish hue, the island transformed to reveal more spirits, all tending to seemingly "ordinary" tasks...all chanting the same sea chantey: Spinal...Spinal...Spinal...

"Great," Edward said under his breath, and he braced for Spinal's attack...

Rules:

  • Edward comes armed to the teeth with his endgame gear and Mayan armor.
  • Spinal is in his most current incarnation.
  • Win by death or incapacitation.
