@nukea6: Disney itself doesn't seem to be overhyping having a female lead in the new star wars (unless her presence in the trailers count as overhype). They seem pretty closed lip overall, much more so than I would expect, especially in comparison to some of the Marvel movies. Maybe social media is hyping it, but thats not Disney.
Has Disney actually made a comment on the whole slave leia thing, besides random "insiders" making the claim? I'm also wondering how much slave leia merch or imagery they had/used outside of the movies in the first place. I will agree that its lame she if is no longer a princess.
Finally, getting Star Wars away from Lucas is probably the best thing for the franchise. Don't get me wrong, he has great ideas and clearly created the universe but I just don't think he writes so well anymore. He's probably better off having a role as an advisor.
Except everything Disney owns nowadays is littered with political correctness. It's all over Marvel and is present in their more recent Disney movies. Sure the one causing the overhype of the female leads is Lucasfilm but they're owned by Disney now so.... yeah. They're even promising more of them.
Sure Lucas is stupid with his tinkering and unnecessary additions but throwing in multiculturalism and shoving it down our throats is even worse. At least before we had the Clone Wars and expanded universe without being forced political BS no normal person should care about.
As for the slave Leia controversy, alright it's not 100% official but seeing everything Disney has been causing, I have no doubt that the outfit will get banned.
I think people should be more concerned about the statement made today that they will be putting out a new Star Wars movie every year until people stop going to them then about political correctness :/

@nukea6: thank you for your thoughtful post. However, Marvel already made us look bad by humiliating and degrading our boy for this trash. Berating their most noble hero for what?! He's already as good, and as pure, and selfless as can be imagined! So what was the point? They go through a litany of excuses as to why Foster is now worthy of being mjolnirs wielder but everyone of those characteristics are what Thor exhibits and exemplifies every damn day of his illustrated life!!!!! So I don't really care about others opinions over my anger. It's a free country. I'm not insulting anyone other than "fictitious" characters........
True, you are only degrading a fictional character so I guess you're good. As for why Thor was changed? Thor #5 makes it pretty obvious. I don't recommend it though because it has two of the most cringe-worthy comic pages I have ever read. Seriously, if it weren't digital, I would have converted the entire issue into kitty litter. It's the only time I have ever wanted to destroy a comic. I didn't even bother finish reading and I dropped Thor off my pull list forever.
@inferiorego: I read the first three crap issues. Worst waste of money I ever made. I am a THOR fan. The only one there is. The MAN! I would've accepted Sif or Tarene or Valkyrie in his stead without his name. I will NEVER accept some human loser stealing what has nothing to do with her! End of story. Humiliating him is part of your "awesomeness?!" Spare me. Is THOR the main character? No. Is his story front and center? No. Then I don't give a damn! Nothing is "awesome" without him. She is pathetic. Like anyone who is a real fan would buy her as a hero.
She's being propped up by force to look cool. She is not. She looks stupid. Like a homeless woman with fashioned trash cans on her. Even in Thors current clothing, he looks more Godly than she does.
I want to see GODS! Not pathetic humans who get sick. Adding humanity to any God is idiotic. They are by definition perfection. We are not. So I'm not missing out on anything but saving money. That said, I will be here every review to tear her down!
I feel your pain man. I think this female Thor is one of the worst changes I have seen any comic company do. I can't say I'm a true Thor fan but the God Butcher Saga was one of the best things I've ever since DnA's Cosmic run and I really hate how it turned into some feminist-friendly garbage. Still, you shouldn't just go rabid fanboy mode and post a storm on every "Thor" review. You'll make the Thor fans look bad.
And I gotta say, that man arm on Fem-Thor looks hilariously bad.
Also, I don't read Batman but it seems the Joker is never far away. Don't Batman fans get bored of him? And don't Batman writers want to use their best stories on any other villains? I know he is a great character but I can't think of any other nemesis that gets SO much exposure.
He hasn't been used much in the New 52 so most Batman readers won't get sick of him. That's a different story in the Arkham games although, I don't know if he's in Arkham Knight but I won't be surprised.
The other Batman villains do need more exposure and I don't mean something like in Hush or Batman Eternal where they are just part of a big villain plot.
