9.5/10. This is the one comic that blew me away this year. I recommend everyone give this a try. Even though I was not a fan of Remender, I loved this book. It is totally different from anything Remender has written ever. IF Deadly Class continues to be this good until its end, this might become my favorite series of all time besides Y: The Last Man!
9/10. This little book came out of nowhere caught everyone off-guard last year. Who would have thought a book about Spider-Man's C-list villains could be so awesome? Nick Spencer's exceptional and witty writing made me giggle every issue. The creative team put their all in this comic which would inevitably get cancelled sooner or later.
9/10. I love gritty crime and mystery anything, so this book is right up my alley. Every issue has been tremendous so far. Joshua Williamson has been killing it with these genre books he has been writing.
9/10. Love the realness this series conveys. I'm a big fan of real and grounded stories. The look in the dark part of the South is very extreme. Southern Bastards rimmed up the intensity by each issue making it one of my favorites of 2014.
8.5/10. I almost lost total interest in Walking Dead after the long All Out War arc. Thankfully, the flash forward saved this book and completely changed the pace and dynamic of the Walking Dead universe. It made the series fresh and new again with so much more different possibilities. Kirkman still haven't lost it after 140 issues!
8.5/10. It's great to see a new comic character get so much exposure and success right off the bat. Marvel and G Willow Wilson have done a fantastic job handling this new Muslim character and making her matter. I can also relate to her in some ways because I'm from Bangladesh. People don't realize how important Kamala Khan is as a character. She could be a big matter in the future Marvel Cinematic Universe.
8.5/10. I have become a big Green Arrow fan over the past few years due to some of his older comics, Arrow and this series. Jeff Lemire wrapped up his extraordinary run with Oliver Queen in 2014. What made this title even better was the delicious art of Andrea Sorrentino. That man can DRAW! Lemire and Sorrenttino's Green Arrow run will forever be something special in my heart of hearts. I'm not really liking the new creative team.
8.5/10. Geoff Johns made me a fan of Superman. He gets it. After he and Romita took over, they completely made this book relevant again. I do think the art could be so much better, but the writing makes up for it. I have been really really digging this so far.
8.5/10. Another Kirkman book that I'm loving so far. These type of stories are right up my alley.
8.5/10. I wasn't a huge fan of this at first. I've grown really attached to Sex Criminals. Fraction's writing is great here mixing comedy and drama to make this book really click.
8.5/10. A very over-looked book that I have been adoring since the first issue. A really dark concept with a twist written very well
8/10. I admit, it took me awhile to really get into GRAYSON. Now, it's one of my current favorites. Even though I am not a fan of Dick Grayson, I'm slowly getting the hang of this new Dick Grayson slowly. and who he is now. Also, the art is fantastic!
8/10. I never thought I could ever really like anything Storm related. Greg Pak has done a fine job getting me invested into the character of Storm and who she is as an X-Man.
8/10. Even though I support how DC is taking a different direction with Batgirl, I'm not a fan of the way it is written. The reason why this is in my top 20 is because of Gail Simone. I almost loved every issue she wrote in 2014. She did such a great job with the character and her supporting cast.
8/10. Cullen Bunn has been doing a wonderful job writing villains/anti-villains in 2014. My favorite is Magento. Bunn dives into the mind and history of this iconic X-Man and explores where he stands in the Marvel universe today.
8/10. Daredevil's move to San Francisco has been a fun ride so far. Mark Waid is still writing a easy-going Daredevil. I relatively like what he has done with Foggy and Daredevil's mother in this relaunch.
8/10. Another Joshua Williamson book that is really entertaining me. Loved the first issue and the whole twist behind it. It has slowed down a bit to build more story, but still great.
8/10. Lex joining the League has really shifted the book for the better. Still continues to be a solid book. Geoff Johns writes all the heroes very well.
8/10. This is like the Louie of comics. This comic is as real as it gets. I really enjoyed it.
8/10. I love reading this douchebag jerkface Tony Stark. I hope the spell lasts a little longer. Tom Taylor is a fantastic writer who can get you invested in anything he writes.
