Martial Arts Fight of the Day - Angel (1987)

The '80s Hong Kong "B" movie territory could be a pretty brutal place and two of the dirtiest fighters in the business were in fact two women by the name of Moon Lee and Yukari Oshima. Their conflicts with each other tended to shed a lot of blood, leave a lot of bruises,  and generally was only resolved by one of them dying. Angel contains a personal favorite fight of mine which although all too brief, is amazing in its ability to ramp up the violence so quickly. Watch as Yukari Oshima totally ruins Moon Lee's friend with an horribly vicious choke flip.

Martial Arts Fight of the Day - Shaolin Intruders (1983)

Just to make things a bit more entertaining as I've had problems writing proper blogs for a while now as things continue to go very, very, badly in my personal life, I thought I'd just post some of my favorite martial arts fights from films that I've enjoyed over the last 20 years or so. They're not in any particular order but I'll probably throw in some of my top picks early just to be lazy.

This time up it's Shaolin Intruders from 1983 which features an absolutely insane end fight between Derek Yee and Philip Ko Fei. A mixture of fast, technical kung-fu with a hefty dose of crazy wire-work it kind of touches on all bases so that even fans of more grounded martial arts fights can appreciate what's going on here and those that enjoy the crazier side of the gravity defying aspect of movie fights will find a bit of insanity to have fun with.
