I definitely recommend reading both Superman: Lois and Clark, mostly because it's a great read, but also to get to know more about the (secret) life pre-Flashpoint Superman, Lois and their son Jon have led up to this point.
Reading Superman: Rebirth #1 isn't necessary for this issue.
I can't help you with your Batman/Detective Comics question since I haven't read them yet.
When are people going to realise that the colours of wires in a bomb is irrelevant? The colour represent nothing more than the insignificant choice of the maker to put a certain colour rubber coating over the copper wire.
It's a Hollywood trope, just like how computer hacking is portrayed in movies.
