Five individuals surviving in a world spinning out of control.

Landing, NJ (February, 2011) – Can you survive in the world that is coming?

Thirty-five years is within our lifetime, we look into the future, and the world stands on the brink. The Ecosystem faces irreversible catastrophe. A global Techno War has left humanity without computers, Internet, cell phones, electrical power reducing survivors to live in a modern day Dark Age! The flooding oceans have risen, a devastating tsunami drowns the eastern seaboard and Europe, and The Middle East has become a flooded radioactive cesspool, where remnants of the tyrannical governments still in existence feud over the last puddles of oil. The little news that can be had is a lie:   the Leaders are corrupt; violence and fear are running amok. The underground resistance rises up in an attempt to bring about real change.

In the midst of it all, five individuals see a day that changes their world and make a discovery so big it will rival the wheel, the car, the airplane, the rocket, the computer, etc.

This the world of “35 Years Will You Survive?” the eagerly awaited graphic novel now available at www.kenbranchart.com When the web comic debuted last July, it became one of the most eye opening comics on the Internet. The last episode was released on the Internet in November, and the collected epic with the 25-page conclusion is now in print.

“As Cliché as it sounds the story really took on a life of its own,” said Branch. “The graphic novel took nearly a year to complete but has been in my head for years and as I read more and more about global climate change and I felt the story need to be told. Many references made in the book are actual facts. In the end I hope the graphic novel can draw attention to the growing ecological problems that exist. One would hope that events in this book would not have to happen before the world to finally makes a real push for clean renewable energy.

Branch said he intends to donate portion of the graphic novel’s profits to promoting clean energy.

The graphic novel has gotten some incredible quotes from industry greats Jimmy

Palmiotti, Bob Layton, Mark Waid, Bernard Chang and Mike McKone.

Publishing under the name “KHB Productions, Inc.”, Branch plans to distribute the graphic novel directly via live appearances at comic conventions and stores, as well as personally supplying retailers and fulfilling orders from individual readers.   You can find 35 Years: Will You Survive? On Face book and at www.kenbranchart.com

A 100 page Graphic Novel that takes on the global warming climate

 My 35 Years Rant

WHY? This subject, genre, etc? This actually all started in doctor offices. I'm not sure which one but with three kids I'm always in one or another it would seem. The first article I read was way above my scientific know how but what I did get out of it was that particles in the air (pollution) were increasing the earth’s temperature. So my best estimates were something in like 35 years with a six to seven degree increase would melt the ice caps and begin to seriously raise the ocean levels. Bored yet?

Next I read an article about a heat wave in Rome Italy 2003. 100 degree temperatures for over a month or so. The foliage in this area stopped the exchange of carbon dioxide (CO2) to oxygen (O2). It actually began to absorb oxygen back in. Yes, the stuff we need to breathe. So I thought this was very interesting and what if I had this happen on a larger scale with say the rain forests. Again I ask are you bored yet?

So now I'm starting to see a story. I've wanted to try something that was more movie oriented than superhero. How many bazillion superhero books are there out there anyway. So began the research about this whole Global Warming thing. I watched some programs and read any article I could find about all this.

When I began to put a story together I wanted to sneak some real info into the story (there is lots of it) and then add around it. In the story I wanted to show extreme working class divisions of people. We have the “well off” that are very easy to spot and most everyone else left out in the dark, literally. So I Added a Tsunami as the last glacier of Greenland slides into the ocean. Far fetched, maybe not. Greenland’s glacier is melting and giant holes have formed which water is pouring down. This is called lubricating. (In ancient Jerusalem time a devastating event happened when a side of a mountain collapsed into the Mediterranean and caused a 65-foot wall of water traveling 500 mph). Next I wanted an Internet attack that fries all active computer. Try it imagine that if you can. NO computers, NO cell phones or NO satellites. A complete BLACK OUT. A modern day dark age. (Last year the summer of 2010 the US government had their computers attacked and some shut down when hit with a million hits per second.)   I wanted to divide the world so with rising oceans spreading across areas of the Middle East, a dirty bomb ignites contaminating the oil. That sends the price of gasoline skyrocketing and the world has a financial meltdown. Put this together with a brilliant but ignorant scientist, a rebel son, his friends, a corrupt government, the richest man in the world and a new regime, and one gigantic scientific discovery and mix. Lots of fun and chaos.

Lets return to the REAL world.

As I said before much of information in the book is out there happening right now. So here is my question after all this? ARE YOU BORED?!  We have many photos of glacier changes. We have the ice caps shrinking. YES shrinking! We have scientists screaming at the top of their lungs. A four year study released in March of 2005 called the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. 1300 Scientists from 71 countries all came back with information about how climate warming is affecting the ecosystems.  But noone listens as the world addicted to oil like an opiate drip somehow opposes clean renewable energy.

NOW if you are still with me, I dare you, go out and rent The 11th Hour or The Inconvenient Truth, look up The Millennium Assessment. Awareness is our best ally.  LMK what you think.
