    Wealthy businessman Ben Palmer stumbled upon the diamond statue of the powerful sorcerer N’taka in Pretoria, South Africa after the diamond mine he was inspecting collapsed. Once N'taka took possession Palmer's body, he magically becomes a superhero named Prism and later becomes the leader of Seattle’s local super-team the Centurions.
