A young prince must leave his reclusive village in the mountains after being inflicted with a boar- demon's curse to find a cure. His travels lead him to a massive and ancient forest filled with demons and spirits, and to his surprise, a young woman accompanying large wolves. After finding two injured men in the wood, the prince veers from his mission to take them to their home, a fortress city named Iron Town who's citizens are very industrious even to the detriment of the forest and mountains around it. The people welcome the prince and he learns that they are in a desperate battle against the guardians of the trees which look like giant wolves and boars. The prince soon finds that the leader of this town has a plan to destroy the godly Spirit of the Forest to ensure that the guardians will no longer be a threat. He also learns that the young woman traveling with the wolves has a vendetta against the town leader, and as his curse begins to take over his body, he becomes a mediator between the two fighting parties; trying to find a peaceful solution so that humans and nature can live in harmony.

One of my all-time favorite movies. The animation, character development and musical scores are all phenomenal. There is a wonderful underlying message of preserving nature and the creatures that we coexist with. Watching this movie makes you realize how beautiful everything really is, and to appreciate what we have. But it's not all moral, there's loads of battle action and ruin. In an odd way, it finds balance in the end....
