In “Rite of Passage,” a ritual lion hunt intended as a tribal test of manhood turns into a deadly encounter with a visitor from the stars as the young hunter becomes the hunted. In “Pride of Nghasa,” the once-in-a-lifetime appearance of the “hunting star” brings with it a murderous curse that besets a British railway crew. But while this curse is worse than rogue animals or men, Earth is not its home. And a hunting ground may be even more merciless than the most heartless hunter.
