AMC's next big show isPreacher, based off the Vertigo comic book of the same name. The upcoming 2016 series follows a small-town Texas preacher and will be executive produced by Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg. AMC revealed that a full trailer for the upcoming series will appear during November 1st's episode of the Walking Dead, but until then, they gave fans a quick look at the series with a teaser.

Here's the official synopsis for the show:

Preacher is the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper, Agent Carter), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse, his ex-girlfriend, Tulip (Ruth Negga, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun, This Is England) embark on a journey to, literally, find God.

Preacher will air on AMC sometime in 2016.

So much that Walking Dead couldn't even say "Fuck" at least once when it would have fit into the scene perfectly.

Preacher is very language heavy. AMC is lot more conservative in the cursing department compared to other channels like FX, Showtime or HBO

@MadeinBangladesh: AMC is held to the same language prohibitions as FX, so I doubt they would do more. And it's not fair comparing a cable channel to HBO.

I know Preacher was drawn by Steve Dillon and all (mad respect but most of of his faces are pretty lean), but this actor doesn't say "Jesse" to me. Maybe his acting will.

I'm really nervous to get excited about this then have it turn out like walking dead. It seems to have the same color filter as that show and Im afraid its going to be super serious (Preacher has some dark comedy elements) and everything from Walking Dead is just a hollow and empty show.

Hmm. I didn't expect to see Jesse Custer having a beard and his hairstyle isn't the way it supposed to be from the comics. It would be better if he didn't have a beard though. But then again, I'm excited to see how the actor plays out. As long the Texan accent is there.

AMC is not more conservative. They had TWD say the N word, which is far more controversial than the f word. FX? You have to be kidding. SOA almost never used harsh language, and if it belonged in a show it was surely that one...

Hmmm. Still not sure how this will convert to TV, but...I'm definitely going to give it a shot!
