Is anyone else really disappointed with this series. I was a big fan of the previous Power Girl series and this one seems just painfully boring.
Power Girl
Character » Power Girl appears in 1721 issues.
Kara Zor-L is the older, wiser, and stronger counterpart of Supergirl from Earth 2 but resides on the Prime Earth.
World's Finest, a fine disappointment.
Yes, it's boring. I was willing to look past the costume, and even the fact that they made Karen look like a generic super heroine in terms of her body(What was wrong with making her different? Nothing.), but it IS painfully dull. I'm dropping the book for now, at least until they get a different creative team for it.

Good, I hope it gets cancelled and they bring back Helena Bertinelli.

it really seems that PG needs a woman either drawing or writing her to be any good
No, just less editorial interference.
it was eh to me it dose not feel like pg to me heck at first i could not tell if it was pg or supergirl kara kent cause there is not much to stand out between the two. i think they need Amanda Conner back to save PG Amandas PG is the real PG in my opion.
The story is bland. The art is substandard. The pacing is getting old. Over all I think Worlds Finest needs either to be cancelled or a new creative team pronto. On top of that maybe they should focus Worlds Finest on both Superman and Batman families. Like have one issue about Superboy/Red Robin for a while, then have Steel and Batgirl or something. Batman/Superman was a great series. However if they would extend the title to more members of both families it would be much better than its predecessor.
Power Girl > Super Girl, i think it is time to Super Girl off to the 52nd century.

I read the first isse and it bored the hell out of me. I read the 2nd also, couldn't even finish through half of the book.

@AweSam: lol, that's the least of the problems. You can have a good story, artwork, sense of direction and pacing, all without cleavage. Unfortunately, I haven't seen a whole lot of that so far.
Even though it disgust me, but I do believe it's the lack of cleavage.
Despite my love for PG, I'm still not reading this series.

Sadly, I agree with you on this. Although I don't HATE her new costume, it's her lack of *ahem* assets (as well as the horrible artwork) that's really getting to me... :(

ditto squared
I'm also not much of a Huntress fan... Can you just give PG her own solo series again, DC?!? I really miss it...
The story is....ok, could use a lot of work, but the art, my god the art is dreadful, I disdain George Perez/

this
@azza04: Then we could merge Superwoman into Superman. Power Girl and Supergirl are not identical just because they are the same sex..

They're written pretty much the same in the DCnU
I'm not enjoying it much either. I think that there are some good ideas but they have a pretty dumb plot and villain so far.

Then that is the problem. However, it is too early to see how PG is written (except poorly) two issues in.
@azza04: Merging Superwoman and Superman makes as much sense as merging PG and SG. Being same sex (and both Kryptonian) doesn't make them identical characters. DC can do the same things with PG that they do with any other character: Write some good stories for her. That's what they employ writers for. You are throwing out the baby with the bathwater. There is nothing wrong with having two female Kryptonians You just need twice as much writing. If they can write three books for a single character (Batman) they can write a book each for two different Kryptonian characters. PG doesn't even have her own book; she is sharing a book with another character.
I don't need cleavage to enjoy a Power Girl story, but at this point, it could only help. Apparently, Power Girl's powers are different on Earth 1 (I call it Earth 1; some people call it Earth Prime), but it's not said how they are different. Apparently, she is weaker because Huntress's crossbow seemed to hurt the villain more than Power Girl's strength. However, she is still strong enough to haul large chunks of rare earth metal from the ocean's floor. And why are they keeping themselves seperate from the Justice League? If they are stuck on Earth 1 due to apocalyptian technology, wouldn't it make sense to contact the people who have had experience with it?

oh ffs they do not need to be doing this again with PG. just make her identical power wise to the other kryptonians. DC please get the Conner trio back to fix PG and get her heading the right direction.

I still think they should have merged Supergirl and Power Girl into one character (SUPERWOMAN!), don't need them both.
I agree. Two versions of Kara Zor-El is just pointless. Now, if one was Linda, the other Kara, or even Cir-El, or ANY other super female, it would be fine. Looking on wikipedia, an alien Queen Lucy with powers (Daximite).
@COBRAMORPH: I like Power Girl, I thought Amanda Connors run on her series was entertaining.... but I can't help but feel PG is held back by her origin, if she was a seperate character not connected to the Superman family I feel she would shine more. She's like an old relic from the universe before infinite crisis.
@azza04: Yes, thats the main problem. They are two versions of the same person. Both Kara Zor-El. Its bad enough trying to find some way to make multiple versions of the same hero (the GLs, the Flashes/Speedsters) but not only do SG & PG have the same powers, they are the same person as well.
I'd just retcon Power Girl as being Linda Danvers after she quit being SuperGirl. Or again, any of the other supergirl versions.
