What's Good?
This is what I missed from Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray's run compared to Judd Winick's run: randomness. Not to say that Winick's take in Power Girl has been bad, it's mostly been tied into Justice League Generation Lost with Maxwell Lord. It's just nice to see some craziness, funny moments, and some guest stars like Superman appear and still be serious. Add in another surprising guest star at the end, and I think this story arc will get even better. Not only that, but we also get an update with Karen's company that makes one previous character from the last issue (Ophelia Day) a bit upset. I can't wait to see her and Karen come to blows in the future.
Sami Basri's artwork is always wonderful to see in this series. Vibrant and detailed, I love his work with Power Girl . Facial expressions are great as always. Even the guest characters look wonderful as well.
What's Bad?
Timing. I was hoping to read Justice League Generation Lost before this issue, because apparently, I missed the memo of Karen finally exposing Maxwell Lord. Karen's reopening of her company surprised me because there's not a huge explanation on how she got her company up and running again, but I think the Generation Lost tie in might answer that.
Overall: Things seem to be picking up for Power Girl without the Generation Lost tie in. Can't wait to read the next issue.
