Point of Impact #1

A reporter. His beautiful wife. An affair. A big company. Ex-militaires (like Black Water). Detectives, two partners. A homicide. This is basically the plot about this interesting thriller, a very decent and consistent police story about a man searching for the truth and revenge. The most impressive thing is how cool the title sounds and perfectly fits for the story told: Point of Impact, after you've read it completely, really clicks and you realized that in every issue there's definitely a point of impact, affecting different characters as the plot evolves and gets thicker. Since it's a murder and mystery story, lots of twists and revelations are the marks in this mini series. It was a long time since I've read Faerber for the last time, mostly read his super heroes stuff, and it was a very good job, he showed real attachment to the story and potential to become a great writer of this genre. Unfortunatelly, not everything were dandy and flowers in this arc story, mostly because of some confusing scenes and dialogues, that quite didn't followed what the characters were living at the moment or really revealed a contradiction to previous statements (like, it's not safe to stay here, but let's stay anyway and discuss things while the killer takes his time to reach here and kill us, right?), but mostly because of the obvious scenario (the weakest "twist" or "revelation) developed by the writer. The best thing in this series was definitely Koray Kuranel, what a fantastic artist! I'm not a big fan of B & W, but this penciler really delivered impressive panels, awesome storytelling, perfect continuation skills, he's very talented and I hope new gigs come to him! Well, this was a very interesting and quick read, so if you enjoy the ocasional police-murder-mystery story, you'll definitely like this! Plus, the art makes it up for the flaws in the narrative!
