The Invincibly Super Massive Comic Book Podcast of Stuff: Episode 149
Sep. 9, 2016 1:32pm
Tony and Mat are back and talking about some of their picks of the week: Batman, Moon Knight, and Supergirl. They also discuss this week's news and answer your questions!
Kings batman has been very surprising, despite my reservations with the introduction of Gotham and Gotham girl. I highly enjoyed #6, I felt it was an emotional issue and I really liked that Bruce was humanized. It's nice to see the softer side of batman.
I don't know if King did this intentionally, but it almost felt as if Gotham girl was attempting suicide by continuously fighting crime in the issue . Seems likely, since the loss of her brothercreated a traumatic experience and made her unstable.
I'm afraid that wasn't me on Twitter. Haven't used my account in ages. Probably should delete the account (or start using it more).
- It's funny that Moon Knights sanity has become the cornerstone of his character. They've done so much good work with him but I kinda wish he could just get back on an even (sane) playing field.
- I'm surprised Mat hasn't read a comic about teenage girls that he's liked. Trying to think of some good ones. What about Betty & Veronica? Or Papergirls? Are they teens in that? Oh wait, what about Prez?
- Glad I could inspire your new segment "Chat about Presidents".
- I'm surprised Mat hasn't read a comic about teenage girls that he's liked .... What about ..... Papergirls?
Bingo, my man. Nice call. I have to say I am pretty much in the same boat as Mat, as I can't recall any book that mainly stars teen-age girls that I have enjoyed, at all, other than that puppy right there. If Mat can't/doesn't enjoy Papergirls, the cause is lost. ;-)

Yeah, maybe he hasn't read it. I haven't either, but I'd like to.
Well if you do, try to get it collected or at least get a few issues to read back-to-back. It is great, but it is one of those books where if you don't keep up, you can get lost in all the stuff going on. Or, well, maybe it is just me. LOL Real good, but highly strange (in a way) book. ;-) Love it
