Huh, just realized now that he left. That sucks. I haven't been active on this site in a long time but for a while it was my preferred spot. That was when Sara was still around and before it was bought out.

After the buy-out they did a redesign and some of the content filtering in the forums was broken. You used to be able to un-select all the stuff you didn't care about, like battles forum and RPG, and but then get everything else with one click. This was critical for me because they put so many posts and threads in really granular sub-forums. Like a sub-forum for one specific issue of a comic named after the storyline title. It's like...ok. Now that I have to manually mark forum I want to see as "favorite" and I still won't get the one-off stuff or I'm inundated with threads I don't care about and wow this is entirely too much work. When I asked about it the response was "that feature never existed" and I didn't feel like arguing the point with someone who clearly didn't care.

So I got less active on the forums, I got less mindful of the posts, and then it got to the point where I would always open CV with all the other bookmarks in that folder, scan the first page for anything interesting and close the tab, and only stopped to read today when I noticed the posts have been the same for a while—barely updating.

I think it's probably time that I dropped this off my bookmarks. Bummer, because I had a lot of posts I loved here and even made a go at the blog thing for a while. Chief among them my Sentry blog post and my rant thread against the name Red Robin. Those still get bumped every once in a blue moon.

Feels silly to post a farewell comment since I've basically already been gone for like 2 years. Ah well. Thanks CV, you were good while you were good.

Well, I´m gonna be THAT person...

From the second the first changes started appearing after the gamespot deal I could see where this was heading and I´m pretty sure you could, too.

The reduction in podcast length, the shrinking of content, the disapperance of supermassive (of course not a "disappearance" but a "fusion").

Transparency was the main problem.

Just the same when Sara left. When Cory left. They never "left" they were just "busy today", and then "also busy" the next time, and then slowly faded out. It´s noteworthy that everyone who left the pod was so frigging "busy" that they just for the life of them couldn´t find the time to come on the pod one last time, or phone in and say bye to the listeners. Almost as if they couldn´t or wouldn´t.

Do you have to share everything with the listeners? No. In fact you don´t have to do anything at all for us. But it would have been good style, since we, too, offered a great deal of persistence, loyalty and love.

@Mat: Thank you. At least you went out with style.

Maybe this will be temporary; probably can just decide to restart the podcasts, once the loss of a staff member is resolved, perhaps by the inclusion of a new staff member.

I miss 2014 comic vine. I used to check the site daily. I miss "the best stuff in comics" videos, the "best battles in comics" articles, and the "character of the month"/"battle of the week" posts.. good times

I didn't know Tony was gone. I've been listening to the old podcasts - usually when driving which isn't that often so I've got a lot to catch up on.

Why does it always seem every change around here is always a change for the worse?

I had no idea. I haven't ever listened to one of these before, but it was very touching to hear it. I am worried about the site. Not only because Tony was the heart of the site, but because it needs someone to be full time staff members and deal the front page. inferior ego is a perfectly fine dude but he can't do this on his own if he's splitting his time. The site obviously needs more care and attention.

I feel so old seeing everyone slowly exit stage left. I remember finding CV when it was still just a comics super-wiki with Power rankings and a bunch of nerds debating endlessly. And Mat pumping out fantastic photoshops for everything!

but its also awesome seeing the growth. you guys have done great work all these years. i expect no slacking @inferiorego. keep kickin ass. And all see you in like 10 years when i finally have the time and money to make it to a con.

I used to listen to this every day but things changed dramatically when Gamespot took over. I almost immediately found myself drifting away from the show.

I will be checking out what Tony does in the future. Gamespot needs to figure out that talent and innovation are the drivers behind successful modern websites, and they have none.

Did they ever reveal why Cory left?

I was honestly fighting back the tears when I was listening to this. I've been listening to the podcast for many years and have never missed an episode. It was sad when Norm left, and when Sara left, and Cory was missed too when he stopped coming on, but now with it all actually ending, it's hit me quite hard. I know it's odd to say, but the podcast has been a part of my life for so long that I look back on it with memories like I was hanging out with friends... and now those friends have all left :(

I had been intrigued by your other podcast in the past, but after finding out you're covering the RKelly "Trapped in the Closet" saga, I'm on board! Subscribed!!!

Im sad to see the podcast ending, and with Tony gone, i wonder if there is much (if any) future for ComicVine...
