Few things.

1. I thought what you guys were talking about the internet and the our society was interesting. I wouldn't mind if more discussions like that come up.

2. I'm slightly annoyed with Flash at what he does at the end. I get why he did it though but still come on Barry! Still like the show though. Oh and that reveal about the Man in the iron mask, did not see who's face that was coming. The name yes the face nope. Didn't see that one coming.

3. I found the whole bleeping thing pretty hilarious. I'm listening to this while playing video games and I had to pause because I was laughing so hard I was almost in tears laughing.

@saoakden: I felt the same way about flash. I just couldn't see how Henry Alan would fit in as the man in the iron mask but after that name drop it couldn't be anyone else. I was happy with how it worked out. Hope he comes back in future episodes.

I agree with @inferiorego in that you need to give a book three or four issues\episodes whatever to really get in to something, especially if it's a property that is trying something new that you have a lot of experience with beacuse you might go in to it with preconceived notions that will take time to overcome.

As for negativity you guys were talking about I also agree with @undeadpool in that this is something that has always been happening it's just in the past people posted the hate mail instead of writing it on the internet. However beacuse of the internet it's easier for people to get exposed to stuff and therefore complain in a very public forum, where in the past people just ignored the stuff they didn't like instead. And this goes for everything and not just popular media. Politics, religion. everything.

Also I agree with @gmanfromheck and think the most important question about Superman is that Rebirth implies that the New 52 universe and the Pre Flashpoint universe are the same one, so how can there be both a pre- and post-Flashpoint Superman?

I think I'll skip this week, from the sound of it the podcast will be less a talk about comics and more a lecture about how bad comic book fans are.

Mark_Stephen, it's only a couple minutes out of two hours. Don't worry. They won't hurt you.

About the Flash season finale. Barry preventing his mom from being killed does not stop him from becoming Flash. The reality that season 1 takes place in, is already an alternate Flash timeline:

Reverse-Flash goes back in time to kill Barry as a child to prevent him from becoming the Flash.

Since, future Flashed saved child Barry, Thawn instead killed Barry's mother.

Thawn then had to ensure Barry would become the Flash, so he killed and replaced the professor.

Thawn did this to make Barry become the Flash a few years before he would actually become the Flash, so Thawn could get back to his time.

Overall, I instead see Barry saving his mother as him correcting the original timeline. It will be interesting to see where in the timeline season 3 starts.

Enjoyed the podcast, especially when you went over the DC Rebirth comic. I caught a lot of what happened but there was still more I missed. Best comic this week, tried to get more copies for my friends to get them interested but my comic shop said they were out the distributor said no more reorders... So not sure about the second printing they mentioned. Hope it's wrong so my friends can enjoy.

Mark_Stephen, it's only a couple minutes out of two hours. Don't worry. They won't hurt you.

It doesn't hurt but it's rare that I don't listen to a comic book podcast without at least one of the host deciding to go on a rant on how bad fans are on the internet, how negative fans are, how they don't have patience... The preferred word is 'butthurt' which is an amazing word because in two syllables it acknowledges a persons pain, dismisses it, ridicules and scorns it. I'm tired of constantly being lectured to when I object more than once to a storyline. If fans are negative toward the comics then they are more than matched by the host who is negative toward the fan. Yes, I object to Captain America being made into a HYDRA killer, and Dr. Strange being turned into a murderer and Sue doing nothing when Wolverine murdered Hank Pym (one of them anyway) and a lot of other stuff that marvel has done and I'll keep objecting to it and to every objection I know that at least one of the guys on the podcast will take that objection and dismiss it and me as someone not worthy of notice. That's why I've learned to avoid the podcast when anything like this pops up, I know they'll spend at least a part of the show taking shots at people who don't like it.

@mark_stephen: if you listen to what they have to say, you would know that they don't have a problem with you disagreeing over a story point, what they have a problem with is people overreacting and sending death threats to the writer over a fictional character.

ComicVine goes waaaaaay overboard to placate the vocally butthurt. They are CONSTANTLY mollifying people who go off at the slightest provocation. So much so that I wish they would stop doing it so the audience could grow up a little and just accept that not everything is to their liking and they can actually, yes I know this sounds almost impossible, just live with it. Swallow the bitterness. Forget about those first world problems. Clear the desk of a few action figures. You know. Live in the world and just be.

I'm pretty sure there hasen't always been 3 jokers. It all has to do with Rebirth. Like how there is/was 2 supermen. I think they are all from different earths, all brought to this reality more than likely to distract Batman from solving the larger mystery that is Rebirth.

@lemmycaution: right? I blaze through these podcasts now and maybe fast forward through about 1/3 to 1/2 just to avoid listening to all that.

@themantisshrimp: 1/3 to 1/2 is probably a bit hyperbolic, but I understand the sentiment. I would never do that because, well, you never know when some bon mot is going to crawl out of someone's gullet!

Yeah I just state I don't like something, then not buy it.

It has to flop big time for it to stop happening...they see that big drop in sales they panic.

I think all of the criticisms you guys laid at the feet of X-Men Apocalypse are completely valid but I had a blast with the movie. I know I'm in the minority here but I tend to prefer the Fox X-Men movies to the MCU and I enjoyed Apocalypse more than Civil War (though, I really liked both). Deadpool is still the best comic book movie of the year so far though.

@lemmycaution: I also skip most of the news sections so that adds in too. I'd rather leave most of that to be a surprise.

Great episode this time. Kind of a throw back to the old CV Podcast that just talked about everything.

Although you guys have talked about annoying internet rage a lot I found this discussion to be really good.

Also, Rebirth sounds really cool. As someone who loves Watchmen but isn't a hardcore DC guy I'm super intrigued that they may have some connection. It may even get me to buy some DC Comics for once!
