Just as the Missle Men King is closing in on the hysterical girl robot, Doc Magnus wakes up from being knocked out in the initial attack and he uses a ray gun to save her. If Doc had not woke up when he did, the Missle Men King would have claimed Platinum for his queen!

However, since he exploded, he was destroyed in the process as well. At the end of Metal Men #2, Doc Magnus said that if the readers wanted him to revive Platinum, then he would try and do so. Apparently the cute girl robot did have sufficient fan support, for she did return.
