The Missle Men King searches the Universe for a robot lovely enough to be his queen. His telescopic lens finally sees the gorgeous Platinum Earthling. He directs an attack and his Missle Men easily dispose of all of the Metal men except Tina. Realizing that the Missle Men King is after her, the adorable girl robot makes a futile attempt to flee. Just as the Missle Men King is closing in on the hysterical girl robot, Doc Magnus wakes up from being knocked out in the initial attack and he uses a ray gun to save her. If Doc had not woke up when he did, the Missle Men King would have claimed Platinum for his queen!

Plutonium accomplished something that few villains ever do in comics. This evil robot not only defeated Platinum, but he finished her. However, since he exploded, he was destroyed in the process as well. At the end of Metal Men #2, Doc Magnus said that if the readers wanted him to revive Platinum, then he would try and do so. Apparently the cute girl robot did have sufficient fan support, for she did return.
