    Phobos

Character » Phobos appears in 93 issues.

Child of Ares and an unknown mortal woman, Alexander was a mortal boy whose godhood awoke from drinking the blood of Amatsu-Mikaboshi. He joined Nick Fury's Secret Warriors with the codename Phobos and became the new God of Fear. Later, he died at the hands of the Gorgon.

Will this dude be the new super "heavy" in Marvelverse?

The guy is a demi God, he  had super Strength, magical abilities, pre-cognitive powers and near limitless Endurance has the power to do things that make the Scarecrow and others look like a bunch softies.  The god slayer Mikaboshi hits Olympus and Phobos falls. Bendis then retcons him, like he retcons lots of things. Some fans thought he flushed about 20 years of Phobos down the toilet and the villain is just a little boy...but maybe not. The Mikaboshi stuff seems to be still canon

i think he's going to be a big part of Siege. im of the idea that he's going to see what happened
and go after Sentry regardless of his orders not to. being that Sentry has shown his biggest weakness
to be his own fears, might not be a good day for him.

Yeah, should be really cool and the character itself is cool. Marvel is really setting up their "teen" heroes up for the future to play out really cool. It is something DC has always done better with Teen Titans and those secondary characters that are younger which allow them to grow into something great. The thing is, along with DC, will there be enough room to have these characters take important parts in their own books or team books, leaving out characters like Hawkeye, Captain America and Wolverines?

Son of Ares, trained by Nick Fury himself, heck his granddad is Zeus. He's gonna kick some major ass during Seige I believe.

@DEGRAAF: Can you be god of two things? And we all know Ares isn't going to stay dead, just like Zeus or any of the gods. Although the Assault on New Olympus might be changing that tune.

Why wouldn't you be able to? Many gods have/had several different (and not necessarily connected) areas of godhood (if that's the proper word for it).
Examples:  Athena - goddess of wisdom, weaving and strategic warfare; Thoth - god of wisdom and the moon; Artemis - goddess of hunting and the moon; Apollo - god of music, poetry and light/the sun; Horus - god of the skies, the sun and warfare. And that's just mentioning a few.

i thought so too. They can put him thru training and trials and he can learn what it means to become a god and everything else. and once he's passed his trials he could be granted full power of the god of War as well as the god of fear. That would be one god that i dont think anyone would want to mess with. They could also make him a full god after the trials

@DEGRAAF: I believer he was already made a the god of Fear in the Secret Warriors. I know Ares took him to Olympus but I can't remember what it was for and there was a lot of talk about him becoming the god he will be, or maybe its just been awhile since I read that issue, I'll have to look for it and reread. But ya I would assume he would have to do the same thing to become the god of war and considering Ares killed his other son that only leaves Phobos.

is it going to be the same phobos?

obviously they'd be horrible if they ignore the entire current backstory on this character, but as of now i've seen nothing to tie it together...
