Philippe Buchet
Sketches of Navee by Philippe Buchetis born in Janiville in France on May the 7th in 1962. He gave up High school and went to Paris. There he started to draw some illustrations for some shop windows (especially Café) and to sell some of his works to make money. Later he won a contest for a science-fiction movie. He was told to draw the costumes and the locations for the movie. It lasted 7 months. Unfortunately the movie was never achieved...
Then Philippe Buchet went to Reims and started to work as an independant illustrator and work for several communication agencies. He gave up and soon was hired by a communication agency. Some of the work he did then was in comic form. One day he met Jean-David Morvan (a Belgian comic writer) thanks to this agency. Jean-David Morvan quickly proposed him to join his project: a science-fiction graphic novel called Wake. The serie is very succesful very fast especially due to the main character, a young human named Navee. Philippe Buchet won the "prix Essentiel jeunesse" (at the comic Festival in Angoulême) two times: in 2006 for the issue #8, and in 2008 for the issue #10.
