Thomas "Paralys" Fireheart is one of those gang members that's not too bright and has to do what other people say because he's just not capable of quick thinking.
Fireheart was in a police transport vehicle with two other criminals during a freak lightning storm. The storms are hitting cities across the country and when they hit, people are embued with superpowers. Fireheart gains electrical blast powers. His friend Soren Claus leads them into the street to wreak havoc on the civilians and show off their new abilities. The abilities themselves seem to have a bit of control over their minds compelling them to unleash their natural criminal behavior even more so than normal.
