    Orcs

We call them green asses! Throughout history, different civilizations have considered them as a disease, an infection to be eradicated, a greenish miasma cyclically ravaging their countries. We hate them, because they are dirty faces, predatory, vicious, poisonous, brutal, bloodthirsty! You should never trust them, nor hope to see them respect the rules, or become softened by a sweet bucolic scene, because it is not in their nature.

However, over the centuries, some have softened, others have become educated and many have shown themselves to be more dignified than many so-called civilized peoples. We are meeting more and more intelligent orcs, with a hint of common sense and not necessarily seeking to eradicate other races from the surface of Weatherlight. It is true that they have war in their blood, that they despise the weak and that the gods they worship – whether Onk, Gor, Wog or Mog – encourage them neither to calm nor to prudence. . But with their incessant wars, men knew how to channel their anger and they understood that the orcs made ideal recruits for their mercenary companies.

“I spit on anyone who thinks orcs have no honor. We may not be as intelligent as the elves, we haven't built citadels like the dwarves, our fields don't stretch as far as the eye can see like those of men, but we know how to die for our own and for the word given. And to those who say that orcs are too stupid to fear death, I say that orcs prefer death to a life of dishonor! We are accused of being responsible for most of the conflicts in the lands of Arran, yet it was the dwarves and elves who forged the first blades. Not the orcs! And it wasn't to protect themselves, but to tear each other apart. But they needed a scapegoat on whom to blame themselves. We were big, brutal, we didn't always smell like roses. It was a foregone conclusion. So, it should come as no surprise that today we like to hit back! » Ayraak, captain of the Iron Fang Company.

    Mercenary Orcs

    No Caption Provided

Nowadays, many orcs are sold to the highest bidder, going to war in the four corners of the lands of Arran. Few dead-end mercenaries live long enough to reunite with their families once their service is over. But those who succeed earn the respect of their tribe forever. The fact of having seen the country, of having been around other races, and not necessarily to gut them, opens their eyes to the condition of their people. The exploits of these valiant mercenaries are intrinsically linked to the lives of most orc tribes and liven up fireside vigils.

This thought from the orc Ayraak, captain of the Iron Fang Company, sums up the condition of these mercenary orcs well: “Our leader had long since given up understanding the motivations of our employers. This is the secret to making a good mercenary: not to think too much about this absurd life where everyone tries to devour everyone, before ending up in a very damp and dark little hole. That's why a lot of mercenaries are orcs. An orc lives and dies without asking too many questions. »

    Orkelins

    No Caption Provided

Half-orc, half-goblin bastard creatures. This is the race of the (outstanding) assassin and thief La Poisse, one of the best mercenaries of the Gray company, famous for his bad luck.

    Half-Orcs

    No Caption Provided

Half-orcs are not a common sight in the world of Weatherlight. An amazing ethnic mix, half orc and half something else. This makes for nice mixes even if the physical characteristics of orcs often outweigh their other ancestry, generally elven or human.

    Goblins

    No Caption Provided

Some consider them more like pets than real beings. It would seem that aside from the half-elves, there is no other people so despised in all of Arran. Depending on the region, their skin can take on different shades around green, yellow and blue, like their intelligence which, depending on the tribe, goes from profound debility to real intelligence. It must be admitted, they don't have much going for them. They are weak, cowardly, ugly, mischievous and annoying. Generations of enslavement by orcs have made them the ideal slaves.

But today, many goblin tribes have managed to develop, far from the orcish yoke. They are now the favorite prey of slavers throughout Arran. However, it must be recognized that some members of this race are truly exceptional, demonstrating intelligence far above the norm, others are capable of incredible loyalty to their master and finally some manage to become trackers or assassins. Peerless. So, you should always be wary of these little beings and keep an eye on them. There is even a goblin who rules over an entire city, without anyone suspecting it. He is the master of the city of half-bloods, his real name is Sa'ar and originally he was a poor mangrove frogman, captured by slave traders.

He once said something that sums up the deep character of the goblin: “A goblin needs to be told what to do, otherwise he panics. This is why our race has such a bad reputation on the battlefield. At the slightest glitch, we get out. » If there are great differences between certain orc peoples, the same goes for goblins, the phenomenon is perhaps even more pronounced, because it must be recognized, it is a race which has a great faculty of 'adaptation.

    Mangrove Frogs

    No Caption Provided

They are a race of peaceful, gatherer, fishermen goblins. They live in small hamlets hidden well sheltered in the mangroves. Their villages are on stilts, composed mainly of wooden huts with thatched roofs, piers and suspended walkways. Mangrove frogs are seen as weak people, making them prime prey for slavers.

    Rockclimbers

    No Caption Provided

They are a race of goblins with the gift of moving on ceilings or walls, a valuable ability for stealing or spying. They are also called climbers. We must believe that this talent gives confidence to the members of this breed, because the rare rock hunters that we can meet are often strong-mouthed and display a most surprising confidence.
