Once beautiful and admired by everyone, today hideous, hunchbacked and sick; Melos owes his ill fate to Apollo who was jealous of his success with women and especially with Aphrodite. Transformed, Melos is now the object of aversion, derision, and mockery. But he is intelligent and knows how to adapt to the situation.
