Mostly, the wolves are seen but not named... with a few exceptions. Nightrunner was Cutter's first wolf-friend, alpha of the Wolfpack that traveled across the burning waste to Sorrow's End with the WolfRiders and back with Cutter on his KinQuest.
In the initial story (Fire & Flight) Nightrunner delivers the message to Cutter that the Spirit Man and other humans have entered the forest .... with fire!
During the flashback, howl for Bearclaw (and Joyleaf), we see Cutter send Nightfall back to the tribe (with Blackfell) when he and Bearclaw go alone to hunt Madcoil.
We see Cutter's greeting with Nightrunner when the pack comes to pick up the WolfRiders for the zwoot hunt before Dewshine gets hurt by the zwoot.
When Cutter and Leetah reconcile before they answer "the call of Recognition" Nightrunner runs away with Leetah ^_^
When Cutter (and Skywise) head back across the burning waste, Nightrunner becomes a constant companion until they part....
