Dwayne Taylor was the leader of the superhero-group known as the New Warriors. After seemingly dying, the original Night Thrasher was replaced by his brother Donyell Taylor. More recently, Dwayne was resurrected by The Collector and was sent back to his present day alive by Maestro after the Contest of Champions.
check out his old stuff... tough guy, not total badass, but had a small run after New Warriors. Fell off the radar for a bit...they could use him in some new stuff.
" Minus the skateboard he's a more legitimate character. "
When did he use a skateboard? He's not Rocket Racer...

He didn't fall of the radar...he died. The current Night Thrasher is Bandit.Marvel isn't using any of the members of the latest New New Warriors accept Jubilee.
" He used a high-tech fiberglass skateboard for transportation. The skateboard was equipped with a retractable razor-sharp blade, allowing it to be used as a weapon in battle."
As originally conceived a lot of his character's inspiration came from skateboarding culture- "thrasher", the armor, the board- but once that was dropped he was more straight faced.
