Nicholas was just a kid in the 13th century's Germany, when Nergal manifested to him pretending to be a flaming angel came to predict him a glorious future. Then, Nicholas and a large group of fellow children started their peaceful journey to free the Holy Land from the muslims, convinced to be assisted by God himself. That wasthe beginning of the Children's Crusade. Eventually, Caleb Lost, who was at the head of the French side of the child crusaders, confronted with Nergal, to stop him from use all those children for his nefarious purposes. After a clash in the sea, Nicholas was believed to be dead, but in reality Nergal secretly turned him in an un-dead. After a series of events in modern days, Nicholas went live in Prague together with Harlan Draka and the others, in the magical Theatre of the Lost Footsteps.
