Dead Men Kick More Ass : New Mutants #6

     SUMMARY :
Doug Ramsey has risen from the dead. Thanks to his mutant powers, and his time with Warlock he is now seeing everything in Binary code.  When he arrives at the X-mansion Doug witnesses the reunion of the New Mutants and Professor Xaviar.
He waits patiently for a moment to strike and when Amara breaks away from the group, he attacks her. The rest of the team comes to her rescue, shocked at what they see. Doug engages them in battle and we find out that his power to understand all language has expanded to a power to read everything.
      COVER :
I like this cover. The picture part of it anyway. I find the selling of this years mutant crossover to be a distraction from a decomposed Doug.
     INTERIORS:
While this issues art is better than issue #5, there is still no chance of it setting the world on fire.
     STORY:
The reunion was okay, although like last issue you can tell that the familial feel from the New Mutants first run is gone. Also I think the whole "I know the language of movement therefore I can kick your butts" thing is kind of a stretch. Even if he could read it, it does not mean he would be fast or strong enough to do any thing about it.. It was not particularly good. However, there were elements that kept it from failing. A purely average issue all in all.

Note: I would recommend reading the Necrosha One-Shot before this.   Writer Zeb Wells provides a great story - with an interesting interpretation on the motivations behind each New Mutant character. This perspective as fascinating for me and shows a (possible) vulnerability to the team. Very clever.  The art of Diogenes Neves and Ed Tadeo is so good! Fantastic fine lines that translate between strength and dominance to softeness and beauty (especially on Amara for a few panels).  This story show...
