    I'm a Marvel fan who is now trying to gain a little understanding of the DCU. The New Gods, I find them interesting, but I don't understand how Granny Goodness (whom is among their numbers) is old when New Gods do not age past their prime. HUH?

    I'm more curious as to how some immortals age from adolescence to their 20-30's and just stop aging all together

    Or why some (Zeus, Highfather) decide to stop aging at around 60.
     
    It's like there's some switch that says "I want to stop aging..... here."

    @Crom-Cruach: @Son_of_Magnus:  I understand the two of you completly but i was also reading her DCU wikia (and i do understand that any wiki may not be the most accurate source) and it had this to say " The New Gods, are functionally immortal, having ceased aging physically near the age of 30. Unless they fall in battle, they are immune to the ravages of time, and could easily live for thousands upon thousands of years." 
    So then "physically" should mean as appearance and not just capabilities

    @JediXMan: @Son_of_Magnus:  I have pondered the same questions myself when it comes to Marvels Eternals. I understand that it furthers the plot and you need the characters to reach a point of adulthood. But the Eternals where an experiment of the Celestials which means that the DNA is possibly programmed to stop accordingly. However, the New Gods live near a great cosmic power, The Source, which grants them their longevity, so could that have the same effect such as programming cellular pausing.

    SHE'S OLD BECAUSE SHE JUST LOOKS OLD!!!!!! HIGHFATHER IZAYA IS ALSO OLD!!! AND AS OTHERS HAVE SAID, LOOKING OLD ISN'T THE SAME AS HAVEN'T THE SAME PROBLEMS AS BEING OLD!!! Also, I'm only typing like this because the title of this is in all caps and sounds like it's yelling. :P
