"He is my greatest failure"
100 Words Or Less
The battle continues as a portal to another dimension opens up over Central Park. Can the New Avengers deal with this demonic threat and can Strange, Voodoo, and Hellstorm stop it before it consumes New York? Meanwhile, Iron Fist has been transported by the demon that possessed him to an unknown void where he meets the one behind everything. So Then I Said...
More fighting. This time, not against each other but against demons. The Avengers are fighting demons. When I first saw that panel of the demons descending onto Central Park, Spider-Man and I immediately had the same thought: Ghostbusters. Good job, Bendis, on acknowledging that a few pages after (another comedic dialog ensued). Not much more has happened this issue that wasn't already apparently from the previous issue. Victoria Hand re-appears in this issue (I don't really care for her character in the involvement of The New Avengers) to lend Jess a hand and Iron Fist comes face to face with He, the one behind everything. The writing confines any plot development in this issue. The dialog was also very hit and miss. Though I like some of the comedy, I didn't need that much of it. I also didn't care for Hellstorm because of the way he was written. He doesn't come across as the Son of Satan, but rather the slimy douche every high school has. I felt his character could have been given a more sophisticated and/or mature personality. This issue is also suffering from having too many members on the roster. Last issue, Mockingbird was relegated to filming the fight on a smartphone; this issue, they don't even show her fighting at all. And Jess only has some action because she has to get to her baby back at Avengers Mansion. And remember Hawkeye? He was in Issue #1, he was in a few panels in Issue #2 and now he's completely disappeared from this issue altogether. Cut down the roster, Bendis.
The art was on par with the last issue though I did particularly like what Immonen did with the stuff featuring Iron Fist.
