    Osborn's Avengers Re-Assemble 0

Norman Osborn has recreated H.A.M.M.E.R., joined with HYDRA and A.I.M., and now is setting his sights on creating a new team of Dark Avengers. As he travels the globe looking for his various teammates, the allusion to his plan chills all of those involved, and adds surprising members to the team.Written by Brian Michael Bendis and drawn by Mike Deodato Jr., this issue of The New Avengerswas the classic "gettin' the team together" story. It featured Osborn traversing the globe and assembling his ...

Better Lineup Than the Revengers 0

The Dark Avengers rise again in this issue while the New Avengers take a break from appearing in their own book. Norman Osborn's recruitment of his new team is done well enough that it makes up for the lack of the usual stars in this one issue, though. This reads like the typical first issue of a new team book in which you have team members being introduced and recruited. This is the kind of issue Brian Michael Bendis has done well in the past, and that holds true here as well. Osborn, in believa...

    I Want YOU! 0

Dark Avengers are FINALLY back!I waited for a triumphant return a loong time.Back in 2010 when Dark Avengers was ending I was sad because it was my favorite comic of the year(and past years as well!) so when I heard back in August that Dark Avengers would be back I jumped out of my seat.Norman Osborn is more badass now than ever and seems that he learned from his past mistakes and re-created the group with the same rules: "Villains dressed as Heroes" but now he put together a more precise and co...

    Uneven writing. Sorry, Bendis 0

I have been enjoying Brian Bendis' work on both Avengers titles lately, but this month (#18 here and #19 Avengers) are a little slip in quality. I like the plot - it's like a parallel of the Avengers, assembling a new team, except here of course it's a new DARK Avengers (very cool)! But we're back to some clunky dialog at times. I know Bendis prides himself on writing dialog that sounds realistic to the ear, but some stuff just comes off a bit weird and a bit too wordy. Mike Deodato is an amazin...

    Dark Avengers Rise Again! 0

In my opinion, the best (and possibly only) good thing to come out of the Avengers 1959/Superia & HAMMER arc from New Avengers, was the promise that Norman Osborn would soon be a threat in everyone's side again. I loved the initial concept behind Dark Reign and felt that Osborn was truly an inspired choice to assume a role that made him the Marvel U's top baddie. And why not, he's clearly been one of Spider-Man's best foes for several decades. When Superia was finally captured and slipped...
