Edward Stanford, the District Attorney of Phoenix, Arizona and the crime lord known as Nemesis, sought to kill his Sister-in-Law before her investigations exposed his true identity. He was ultimately defeated by his own wife and her sister after they gained the powers of Captain Universe.
