It's time of elections at East City. Legs , Nathan , Al and Andy must protect Joseph Houseman , candidate for governor against the former mayor Hoenzoller . After a bloody attack against Houseman , an illegal Memobox is found inside Houseman's brain, implanted sixty years before , when he was a cadet at the Space Infantry . Through the journalist Emma Key, Nathan comes into possession of the secret code of the Memobox of a dead reminder: it is the same code of Houseman's implant. And obscure secrets about Houseman past come to light.
