    Mysterio

Character » Mysterio appears in 737 issues.

Mysterio was a formidable foe to Spider-Man. So much so that his arts of illusion were carried on by others after the original Mysterio's death. The original Mysterio, Quentin Beck, has recently returned. The events behind his resurrection are currently shrouded in mystery.

Is a Composite Mysterio High Tier?

Personally, I think Beck's tech and skill + Berkhart's edge on new types of technology + Klum's telekinetic one shot powers fused into a single composite Mysterio just has sooo much to deal with people with.

Personally, he could give even High Tiers like Hal Jordan a good fight, and guys like Hercules and Wonder Man? They wouldn't stand a chance. Mysterio is one of the best anti-tank characters a person can pick, and hopefully people start to understand that.

Hell, add his continuity warping powers from that X-Men- First Class series, and you have literally a god that can control reality itself, who could create any character he wished, even if they didn't appear in canon. Mysterio can literally violate the editors intentions and make his own reality.

    Anyone else agree?

If high-tiers need proportional durability, no. If not, maybe with that TK and gear combined.

Eh more of a high end mid tier Really. His durability is not good at all. Nor is his strength.. people like Thor are far more powerful than him. But he'd give a good fight to many because of his abilities... People nlike Hulk Norrin, Thor, Sentry etc are all too much for him. Iron Man, Carol maybe closer to that range

I mean, his TK powers basically make him able to easily beat most Mid tiers by himself.

And with his new feats with the symbote, maybe there could be more to prove that point.

Him beating people like Hal, Thor, Norrin, or Sentry? Absolutely not.

High tiers, maybe. But Herald level with versatility? No way hombre.

@jmarshmallow: Herald level is obviously above his payload, lol.

I assure you, I don't wank him that much.

@diarrhearegatta: Hal is a Herald tier, you said he could give him a good fight.

    I'd heartily disagree.

@jmarshmallow: Nah his TK powers are a hard counter to anyone with a human physiology- it's not TP either so his willpower or telepathic auto shields wouldn't do anything.

Without the TK powers, yeah, Hal would win with little trouble unless he had a significant amount of prep and resources.

@jmarshmallow: It's only been used on street level characters (obviously, it's not like he's battling high mid tiers and above in his stories, let's be honest)

but I don't seriously see how Hal wouldn't be effected- it's hax, it works by manipulating the electrical flow in the brain in a way to make them do things (like force Spider-Man to stab himself with a knife, making him and Daredevil fight, etc) so it's not like he has any defences against it that I can think of at the moment.

Mysterio already busts reality and illusionstomps everything in his MCU version, for what should he need to be composite XD?

@andromeda101: Yeah, I can totally see something like that happening actually.

Obviously Beck did have the power of Cyttorak for a short while when he had the Crimson Brand of Cyttorak already, so the idea of him being a avatar of a powerful entity isn't so far off.....

@diarrhearegatta: The Ring has granted protection against things far more potent and far more powerful than Mysterio's hax.

If Mysterio has never successfully used it against a being on his tier, it's unfair to assume he can.

It's a bigger jump to say that Mysterio can take out a guy who has withstood a nuke casually and dealt with telepaths far more powerful than Mysterio than it is to say that the Ring grants protection against pretty much every form of TP, which is what that is at the end of the day.

    Like who? What examples?

Blunt force is mega useless against hax

and dealt with telepaths far more powerful than Mysterio

That's Telepathy, which isn't what his power is at all. It's TK directly effecting the brain via the electrical flow in the brain. Telepathy has nothing to do with it

than it is to say that the Ring grants protection against pretty much every form of TP,

    Again, not the same thing

which is what that is at the end of the day.

It's really not considering it only effects the person physically (they can still talk normally while they are being controlled, showing it clearly doesn't effect them mentally)
