    Taking place a year after the previous film, a trio of girls called the "Dazzlings" come to Canterlot High with intent on using the magic there to regain their full power by turning the Musical Showcase into a Battle of the Bands. The newly reformed Sunset Shimmer and her friends send a message back to Equestria asking Twilight for help in stopping these Sirens evil scheme.
