So why do you think Mister Terrific didn't make it?

Why Mister Terrific?

He's black, not very popular and not a good comic.
I don't think that really factored into it.
I mean, the new Ultimate Spider-man has a black character as the star, and look at how successful that's been.
The other two reasons, however...
I picked it up at the start because I had never read anything about him before and thought I'd give it a try. I was hoping for some backstory, but never got it. I do like the art and I am disappointed that it's ending. I think it would have picked up. I will continue to read it until it ends and I hope that he shows up somewhere else (Justice League perhaps).

DC is hinting that Mr Terrific is supposed to be invloved somehow with the Earth-2 projects. If that is true, then I would expect that he will show up in World's Finest or Earth-2 (featuring the JSA) in May.
He's not a strong enough character to hold his own book and the creative team was not so great. He's one of my favorite JSA members, but I knew he couldn't make it on his own.
Sub-par writing most likely. I picked up this series on a whim and never really warmed up to it. Once the series ends I'll re-read them and make a final call but the first three issues I read were horrid.

Yeah your right but it's Spider-Man a big name, whereas Mister terrific is a... He's badass with JSA.

Newsarama revealed that Mr Terrific is Earth-1 and will be joining the JLA in the future.

I doubt that he will be JLA. I don't remember Newsarama siting any facts. It seemed like speculation when I read it. I will go with the DC bulletin that was in the back of all their October comics. It suggested that he would be involved with Earth-2 somehow.
@ArturoCalaKayVee: That may have been the original intent, but the Huntress was originally supposed to be Helena Bertinelli from Earth Prime. Just like her, I feel confident that he has been changed. After all power Girl is in his series and she is Earth-2.
I have never read anything that could be attributed to a DC source suggesting that he in JLA.On the other and, DC did tell everyone that he would be involved in the Earth-2 project.
He is a strong enough of a character to support his own series, imo. I was expecting a decent sci-fi/thriller where an intelligent hero would actually outwit his opponents. Sucks that we ended up with fairy dry storytelling and art (in my opinion anyway). I thought the slight cosmic edge they were trying to bring in had potential though...it would've given him a big niche over various other characters.
Terrific worked best within the dynamic of the JSA. He bridged the gap between the older, mentoring characters and the younger legacies.

Creative team not great? Totally. But I absolutely disagree that he couldn't make it on his own. My Pitch:
Sci-fi McGuyver, in a Fringe-style world. (but way better than Fringe, which sucks) Just as Justice League Dark established that there are magical forces which strength alone is helpless to defeat, Mr. Terrific is one of the lone masters of tech who can battle foes in that arena.
SOLD! ;)
He didnt make it because DC as a whole doesnt give a crap about its black characters major or minor.. &while derivative yet boring characters are given hundreds of chances, good writers better marketing &supreme patience in the face of faltering numbers
Ones like Terrific that have tons of potential &promise are not only given crappy writers/artists who have no enthusiasm for the character in the first place theyre then under-marketed.. &quckly cancelled off before most ppl know it was on the shelves to begin with
&when that happens of course you'll get casual retarded go-to statements like "He's not a strong enough character to hold his own book... I knew he couldn't make it on his own." etc -__- great.. just Terrific.

Am I the only one who thinks he would sell better if, instead of calling them T-spheres, he referred to them as Terrific Balls?
"I am Mr Terrific and I am going to defeat you with my brains and my Terrific Balls!"

I like the idea of a Black Spider-Man. I just wish Peter diden't half to die to get him. There is no rule that says there has to be only one Spider-Man.
