    For a better future

Synopsis: So what makes Jade so special?

    What's Good?

This is the second time in this series where I felt so lost. Not the bad kind of lost, just the numbers of questions and possibilities come to mind after reading this issue. And surprisingly, the character who opens the possibilities is Jade. It was only a matter of time before we get an issue featuring Jade. She been undeveloped as a character, and been used as a damsel in distress. Issue #6 plays a role in this issue along with any pages featuring Jade in the first 5 issues.

When I first saw Jade, I did see her as the emo goth stereotype, and I still do to a degree. There's a huge reason why she seems to act withdrawn from the world. Everyone (except for Casey and Ike) have displayed a special ability, trait, or reason to why they are at Morning Glory Academy, and Jade is no different. This special ability of hers is mysterious. Her character doesn't come up as weak unlike the previous issues which is some good character development. Her expression towards Ike is just so funny like she's not even bothered by his presence, despite how much of a jerk he is. There's also a couple of noticeable pages that at first don't come off as important, but I'm sure they will in the future such as the morning glory flower.

And as a bonus, there's a couple of pages dedicated to Casey and Hunter dealing with their peculiar relationship. Out of the all the craziness going with this school, at least there's some normal teenage drama mixed in.

Again, Joe Eisma shows off his artwork that doesn't really stand out most of the time, but it's usually the facial expressions that really hit the part. We don't see Jade doing much in this series, so the artwork was mostly focused on her in this issue.

    What's Bad?

Unless you have read the first six issues, you will be completely lost. While most of the single stories so far were not overly complex and easy for new readers to get into somewhat, this one takes the cake. That being said, my only real problem with this issue IS the random dream sequences.

Overall:   After a couple of delays, Morning Glories #10 comes back strong. Out of the single issues so far, Jade's issue comes close to being my all time favorite first to Zoe's in issue #7. Finally, in the next issue we get to see the bad boy of the group, Ike. Great issue.

The Hangman and how Nick is brilliant 0

Nick Spencer is one smart writer or extremely lucky for me to see things that he never intended.  I am not sure if anyone was written about this comic and its relationship with the Hangman of the Tarot so I hope this is the first and only write up on it.  I love the Tarot because it helps me think when I am writing.  If Nick is like me then the Tarot would make sense as something to help guide writing, this case this comic is a symbolic Hangman, although this is issue #10 and the Hangman is car...

An econter with Jade's future self 0

Cover I like the art for the cover and the concept. The concept is cool because Jade is in an empty dark room. Jade is very emo so it fits her personality. The cover is perfect for a story just about Jade. Story Jade is having bad dreams and Cassie is trying to comfort her. When they get to class the teacher asks one of the students to hang themselves. Jade volunteers to do it. Cassie begs her not to but Jade does it anyway. Jade than meats with her older self and she tells her to say noth...
