It's either going to be a cool short series or a painful long one

Morning Glories is going to be a pretty short series at this rate. Casey Blevins has already learned that the Morning Glory Academy has sinister intentions, and this issue Jade wakes up in the infirmary and overhears Miss Dagney and Nurse Nine discussing evil plans - so pretty much the cat is out of the bag for her too.

The issue pretty much exclusively focuses on Casey and Jade's parallel stories - Casey comes to accept there are sinister doings afoot, but powerless to actually do anything, she seems to be biding her time. Jade on the other hand witnesses the attempted escape of one of the numerous patient/prisoners before she is restrained and injected with an unknown substance.

More and more I get the feeling that this series exists only for the purpose of showcasing cute girls in schoolgirl uniforms and damsel-in-distress or other fetish-y cover art. There's some dramatic tension built up - now lets see if they bring it to a satisfying conclusion, or draw it out for dozens of issues. So, half the new recruits know the Academy is a front, and the others must at least strongly suspect. Worse case scenario, one finds out per issue; we're talking a series that should be over by issue six or seven.

She picked the wall with her own bone. The girl in the jail saw that the person next to her wrote the hour of our release draws near. Back at the school Casey has a discussion about Jade with the headmistress and Casey says that she needs to release Jade but, the headmistress just ignores her. Casey bumps into Ike he says she is going at sa...

While Casey tries to find out where Jade is, Jade is getting checked out by the nurse.  Pros: Weird enough, this issue starts in the year 1490 in a prison possibly somewhere in Spain with a woman talking to another person behind the walls and she see the words, "The hour of our release draws near". This shows up a few times, and somehow play some role throughout this issue and is probably in this series. Back in the present, the mystery and craziness doesn't end in Morning Academy. The conver...
