" While I don't really think he's Marvel's Batman, I will agree that there are a lot of similarities. Frankly, I don't care. "
Moon Knight
Character » Moon Knight appears in 1412 issues.
Moon Knight, Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Jake Lockley: four different aspects of the same man who was resurrected by Khonshu (the Egyptian Lunar-God of Vengeance and Justice) to serve as his "avatar." Those unjust mortals who prey upon the innocents traveling at night, with powers that come from the moon, beware the Vengeance of the Moon Knight!
Is Moon Knight Marvel's Batman?
"@Andferne: I know that but a lott of them have similarities like batman "
But not altogether.
" Obviously there are going to be differences. Marvel are not going to make a character called FlyingRodentMan or anything. All I was saying is that there are a LOT of similarities. So far, @Gunslinger6 is the only one who has listed a comparable list, with his Iron Man example... "

" @G Bird said:" There are similarities but no, I don't think he's "Marvel's Batman". And frankly, I'm sick of people saying this. There are many topics debating this, you should have just posted in there instead of making another one. BTW, Moon Knight's comics are a lot better than Grant Morrison's works that he passes on as Batman. "Same. They really shouldn't keep saying this. "
Agreed

" Yeah Deathstroke came first for a reason, Deadpool is making fun of him. lol "Deadpool is still my favorite.
The only reason I can think they are even similar is that he saw his family get killed and he's a vigilante.
tired of people asking for evidence. You'll smart enough you can figure it out. Look for evidence yourself. No he doesn't wear a cape or stalk criminals at night but that doesn't mean its similarity if he/someone else does.
Soul Reaver comes to mind when you look at Moon Night.
''The only reason I can think they are even similar is that he saw his family get killed and he's a vigilante''. this is major points that make him similar.
@Danial79:You need evidence to prove a any view-point though. Otherwise I could say, Moon Knight is Marvel's Aquaman. Am I to assume you just don't have any points other than the 2 I stated?

Whilst I disagree with @emptytomb 's reasoning, I think the Punisher and Batman have some similarities in the position they fill, in that they take the place of the 'outcast' hero that goes too far in the eyes of others- it's just that the line for 'too far' is very different in both universes. Having said that, you could easily make the same argument for Wolverine; perhaps more successfully, since he and Batman are both flagship characters. And Wolvie has seen plenty of family members (wives in particular) killed, and since House of M has childhood trauma too (which, as far as I know, 616 Punny doesn't- although you could make an argument for PunisherMAX if you read 'The Tyger'). And takes on the image of a feared creature as his costume and namesake. And his definititive story involved 80's Frank Miller (though prior to Garth Ennis, I would have said the same about the Punisher - Child's Play is still one of my favourites). Of course, using this sort of thinking, from the 'real world' point of view, well; Academy Award winners aren't really clamoring to make a Moon Knight film, are they?
Do you even need to ask?
I am sure many a Marvel fan will defend him, but it is pretty obvious. There is inspiration, like Zorro to Batman or Superman to Goku, then there is rip off. Look no further than Moon Knight for an example of the latter. All the reasons you named are too much to ignore. My favorite example is that Batman throws bat shaped shuriken while Moon Knight throws moon shaped shuriken.
A good point. While not even close to the extent of Batman, he even prepares for some of his allies (the thorbuster and hulkbuster suits)
- Mostly play at night
- Vigilantes
- Non-Super
- Use melee weaponry and hand-thrown projectiles
- Have a variety of gadgets and vehicles
- Has caves under their mansions
" @emptytomb: The Punisher? The only similarities I can see are that he saw his family get killed and he's a vigilante. Give me 7 more reasons and then I might believe you :)Exactly. Punisher is an anti-hero."
The only reason I can think they are even similar is that he saw his family get killed and he's a vigilante.
Mockingbird would be Marvel's Black Canary, as Mockingbird was the love interest to Hawkeye, Black Canary was the love interest to Green Arrow.

Since when did Moon Knight have a cave under his mansion? In everything I've read, different rooms in his mansion (mainly his master bedroom) served as his "batcave." Also, those other things on the list apply to dozens of comic book heroes, so they're kind of superficial. I mean, using those "similarities" you could compare lots of other heroes with Batman.
