Mr. Gilchrist never saw eye to eye with Wally West moving into the Long Island, Hampton's exclusive neighborhood. After Wally learns that his lottery fortune was lost, he moved to the city. Mr. Gilchrist sees Wally as he is driving by Wally's new residence. Mr. Gilchrist informs Wally that he not only owns the building but the block as well. Mr. Gilchrist continues by telling Wally that he figured he would end up living in a place like this. He calls Wally a "punk" and "you'll keep having bad luck until you've found your natural level." He ends he brief conversation by telling Wally he better not be late with the rent or trash the property or he'll have Wally arrested. (The Flash #15)

While in the hospital Wally received a letter in the mail that was delivered by Mason Trollbridge. The letter was an eviction notice. Mason mentions to Wally that the other residents were being "pressured to leave." Wally called and tried to reason with Mr. Gilchrist who wouldn't hear of it. He tells Wally to hire a lawyer if you have the money. Plus, true to Mr. Gilchrist's feelings towards Wally, he tells him "It's not so easy to slide by now that your powers are gone is it?" Plus, "I'll probably contribute to the one (charity) that buries you when they find you dead in some gutter." But by the end of the issue Mr. Gilchrist calls Wally and needs his help in recovering his daughter Rosie from Vandal Savage. Vandal demanded $5 million which Mr. Gilchrist didn't have on hand. Wally responded with "I'm sorry Wally West doesn't live here anymore. He's been evicted." (The Flash #16)

After much deliberation Wally agrees to help find Rosie Gilchrist for a price which Mr. Gilchrist was irate. (The Flash #17) Wally saves Rosie Gilchrist and returns her to her father. Mr. Gilchrist has the money that Wally requested. But in the end Wally tells Mr. Gilchrist to "keep it" and to "give it to somebody who needs it." (The Flash #18)
