    In the Tales from Wonderland: Alice one-shot, the story is told of how the mirror is purchased and brought to the Liddle home after the rabbit hole is not effective for trapping Alice in Wonderland. In the series Call of Wonderland various other things replace the mirror, such as drawings on a wall and an intricate tattoo.

    Proximity to the mirror can sometimes allow the forces of Wonderland to have an influence on Earth, as they did on the Liddle House even after the Liddle family left. On other occasions, proximity to the mirror has no effect.
