Gintama was one of the longest-running manga in Weekly Shonen Jump history and in late 2018 when it finally ended its run, it abruptly announced its actual end would come in the form of a three-chapter epilogue in Shonen Jump Giga. This was not particularly odd, Soma would also do a three-chapter epilogue in the same magazine and many other Jump franchises published their final chapter(s) in spin-off magazines or digital platforms. But in Jump Giga Gintama once again announced suddenly it was not ended again even though it celebrated its end and instead of publishing its final three chapters on an established digital platform, they were just released on the manga's own specific web application.
