Ultimate Spider-Man 4 Review - Now You're Speaking My Language

So, remember the last review I gave of an issue of Ultimate Spider-Man, wherein I complained that nothing was really happening but praised the character of Miles Morales? Yeah, this issue takes away my previous complaint a bit, and still leaves us with some great Miles moments. Really, if I had to complain about anything in this issue, it's that the advertising for it is a complete lie. It suggests a confrontation between Miles and the apparently resurrected Peter Parker. Instead, we get what I actually FAR prefer: Miles and Peter teaming up to take on Green Goblin on the grounds where Goblin and Peter once supposedly fought to the death. There's some great lines thrown out by both against Osborn, and even a moment where they get some witty banter between each other. It's just great to see the two teaming up and using their unique skills together, even IF it turns out that this Peter Parker isn't the real deal. And the reactions of everyone watching on the news, from Ganke to J. Jonah Jameson, to Mary Jane, to Katie Bishop, to Gwen and Aunt May are each PERFECT.

So yeah, this issue was great. There's still the deal with the two Spider-Man-like criminals running around, and there's also the hint of some kind of mystery involving Katie and her family, but something tells me both of those plots are gonna see major development a lot sooner than later, and may also be connected to each other and the return of Peter Parker. Also, we still have the ultimate (for a lack of a better term) question floating in the air: If this IS Peter, or even just a clone of him that otherwise has his memories and personality and is a good guy, then what does this mean for the mantle of Spider-Man? Hopefully, we get an answer that works for him and Miles, because I'd HATE to see Miles tossed aside. He's a GREAT character to have around. Personally, I'd just as soon prefer they both stick around as their own Spider-Men. Hell, look no further than this issue for evidence of how that could work out pretty well for them...although I suppose we'd need to get Miles his own pair of web shooters. lol
